Ultrasounds aren’t necessary. A friend of mine insisted on one every appointment because she wanted to see her baby. I got a Doppler for my second pregnancy and it was the best.</p> <p>ETA: I’d only want it for before you can feel the baby move which is how long I use the Doppler for. My doc did 8 weeks, 20 weeks, and I'll have one more around 37/38. We didn't do an NT scan this time because we did the genetic blood test and given that I'm not AMA my doc didn't see a need for both. Some people only get the 20 week scan. </p>
