Ok, then we used it.

We did it because we were travelling with our son and my husband is usually the one snapping photos and we never get any of the three of us together. So, we decided that we'd get it for the trip because the photogs actually have some cool shots they can do, and they have prime spaces, so some of your photos won't have any other people in them! No background noise!

We also didn't want to bring our DSLR and multiple lenses and then have to either carry it all day or leave it unattended.

Our photos are hilarious because my son is literally making the most grouchy expression in all of them!

We use disposables for trips by plane (regardless of length or access to laundry), because you would be hard pressed to get your CD's replaced by an airline if they were to get lost.

We use huggies natural diapers and wipes, and have yet to have a blow out with them for travelling.

@lolabee: We used the GroVia hybrid system when we are traveling more than 3 days without laundry. The shell is cloth, but the liner is a sposie. We never had blow out issues with them.

DS was also really sensitive when we was younger and he did fine with the GroVia's (we only had to use them on 1-2 trips though). We also had to use cloth wipes, with no solution, just water because of how sensitive he was/is, but we have found that he can tolerate the Target sensitive wipes now. He can also use the Target diapers at the moment (we had to stop CDing early this year because of an issue he was having after an allergic reaction to nutritional yeast...before that we CD'd full time).

ETA: I would try the Target diapers if you wanted to try a sposie. DS was always higher %tile for weight (I'm assuming that's what you were referring to in your last response) and they have fit him well. No blow out or leaking issues.

@Mrs. Twine: I think you're right about trying different brands! The last time we used sposies I tried 7th generation (most recently) and had CRAZY explosions - I think it's fit, as you said Lorelei has small thighs and narrow waist whereas my LO is a tank! The time before it was Honest co diapers which worked amazing then (only a couple of pee leaks) but the issue is I can't get them in Canada :( I am so sad.

@artbee: Great idea with the paper towel! I think I'll do that and just carry them in a small zippered case.

@blackbird: Do you know if Earth's Best are available in Canada by chance? Are they good for sensitive babes?

@sloaneandpuffy: Maybe I'll try that type of Huggies!

@meredithNYC: I agree, expensive but worth it for a short trip. They worked well for us, would love to get my hands on them again!

@zippylef: Any particular kind that you found worked/fit best? I think I remember reading that your LO is on the higher % like my LO.

I just wanted to add that if you can try some of different brands, that is the best yet. We tried Honest diapers this past weekend and they didn't work so well for Lorelei. They even fell off of her. I think it just had to do with her build and not the diapers themselves. Whereas the 7th generation seem to fit more trimly (she has a fairly narrow waist and small thighs) and worked better for us.

We just use target brand sposies on trips. It's not worth it to me to go on vacation with cloth diapers..... it's not a vacation if you're always doing laundry. First I tried seventh generation but she leaked like crazy in those. We use kirkland wipes and haven't had issues. What about using a soft paper towel or something with a travel sized spray bottle for wipes?

We CD full time. We're going out of province via plane at the end of July and I'm starting to wonder what to do for diapers. The couple of times I've used sposies I had major poop blow outs!! As in 3 in 1.5 days. Wondering what CD Mama's do on holidays where there is no access to laundry facilities. If you use sposies for that time which do you recommend? What about wipes? LO has super sensitive skin - when he was first born I used Pampers Sensitive and he reacted terribly so I switched to cloth.

We left our LO's two weeks ago for an overnight...they were 4 months old at the time. They were with family, and they all stayed at our house. I wouldn't have let them sleep somewhere different. Plus, we were less than 30 minutes away.
Our next time leaving them will be when they are 9 months, when we plan to go away for the weekend.
