@anbanan15: thanks so much. I will buy them soon. The ped today said she wasn't worried at all bc any mold exposure would have been mild and the stomach acid would kill it. So I feel reassured

@ChitownRo: I meant to post this the other day, but these two brushes are amazing for cleaning pump parts. The Playtex SmartBrush from BRU and the OXO Tots Straw and Sippy Cup brush. Either of these will let you get up in the small parts to really clean it out.

My ped said I didn't need to throw the milk away. I have decided to freeze it with a special label and only use it if super desperate. I'm thawing good milk now. Thanks for the advice

@autumnlove: qtips are a great idea. I thought I was doing everything right... I read through Mrs Bee's checklist and have been vigilantly watching the tubes for mold bc I thought that was the risky area. Sigh

Looks like a combo of built up milk and mold. Nipple brushes and qtips work well!

You need to use a nipple or bottle brush to really scrub those!

So I have been doing the storing my pump parts in the fridge technique, washing in dawn every 24 hours and sterilizing in the microsteam bags every 24 hours. As I was drying my parts after sterilizing today, I noticed this in both valves (see pic). Is it mold? Yiiikes. How do you all dry in there? I have been using paper towel but maybe that isn't enough. Perhaps compressed air?

In the meantime, I am using a new pair. I should throw out yesterday's milk right? He probably already had some of it since I am EPing. He seems ok right now. It's like 15 oz in the fridge... So sad
