@prettylizy: that makes me feel better. the bruise scared me this morning!

@anbanan15: that is awful! LO has been really fussy off and on so I am wondering if it is just making him not feel well in general.

LO did fine with the vaccine, but we separated it from any other immunizations because I am allergic to it.

I developed what looked like shingles, low bp that caused me to nearly pass out, headaches, got very ill, etc. I know my reaction started within ~24 hours, but I can't remember all the details because it was nearly 15 years ago and I was a younger teen. I just know they said I was allergic and couldn't get the second dose or the vaccine in the future...I've never had the chicken pox either and I have no antibodies for it.

We had the same thing, it took a little over a week for the injection site to not be bumpy and red.

@zippylef: yep totally normal. He reacts to all his vaccinations so we usually only do two at a time. Just didn't expect side effects ten days later ya know?

If im not mistaken, those are all relatively normal side effects.

The possible mild side effects include redness, stiffness, and soreness at the injection site, as well as fever. A few people may develop a mild rash which usually appears around the shot's area.[13]

Did your LO have a reaction to the varicella vaccine?

We got the vaccine 9 days ago and when I got home from work I noticed the injection site is red and bumpy:/ LO also has a low grade fever (99.7) and is uber fussy.
