I faint from pain. I remember the first time it happened. I was 12 and fell down the stairs. Since then it has happened maybe 20 other times. One time in high school I was in a school bus and somehow jammed my finghe I fainted and fell into the lap if the guy sitting next to me. Imagine how I felt trying to explain why my face was suddenly in his lap. </p> <p>I'm terrified to go through labor because of the fainting (and the pain). My husband is advocating a natural birth but I just don't see that happening. Often after international travel, when I'm worn out and starving. I faint (or nearly faint) every time I get blood drawn. In fact, I once fell right off the doctor's table after getting a flu shot and hit my head on the floor. It was mortifying! </p> <p>It's called Vasovagal Syncope, and lately I've been thinking about how it's going to mess with me once I'm pregnant. Blood draws! Epidural! Pushing! Ugh. Has anyone with a history of fainting been through pregnancy/childbirth? Tell me I'll survive :) </p>
