But my daughter has a spot that was lighter than the rest of her body. The dr said that as long as there’s some pigment, it’s not vitiligo. My husband deals with that but Becca spot looks normal...like same feeling has her skin around it. It literally looks like just a lighter patch of skin. I first noticed the patch of white near her hairline extending to her eyebrow, and shortly thereafter one of her eyelashes was white. This was about 8 months ago and since then the majority of her eyelashes on that side have turned white. </p> <p>Her pediatrician wasn’t too much help so I took her to see a pediatric dermatologist at a local university. My father-in-law has vitiligo all over his body so I wanted to get it checked out thoroughly. The dermatologist used a special light to confirm that the skin had lost pigmentation in those areas. She’s on a non-steroid cream that has helped restore some of the pigmentation on her skin (which was/is a concern for us as we live in a very sunny climate and those unprotected areas are highly at risk for skin damage). So far no other patches have appeared on her body so it seems to be localized. Yeah so far there are only two spots that are almost white. They are on her belly. However some parts of her skin look lighter. It’s hard to tell if it’s just regular skin discoloration. She is very pale like I am so I easily get splotchy. One is white. I was just wondering if anyone else babies or kids had something like this. We are gonna talk with her doctor at her next upcoming appointment. (Idk if we should call and ask to be seen sooner because of it or not) I’d post a picture but I don’t see the option to do that. </p>
