They're old school with the agitator and all, but are supposed to last forever.</p> <p>We replaced our washer and dryer last summer, and ultimately chose an LG toploader because I didn't want an agitator. I love that I can fit large blankets and sleeping bags in there. We also made sure to get the steam function, and I've used it a lot. Well, now that we live here, it has become clear that the dryer is old and terrible and needs to be replaced (takes 3+ times to dry a load). I am planning to DIY renovate the laundry room this winter (new shelving, counter, tile, etc.), but want to buy a new washer/dryer either in the Fall or January (apparently the best time to get a good deal).</p> <p>I want side by side machines that can handle a lot. The plan is to have these last for the next 20+ years!</p> <p>What do you reccommend? </p>
