I just bought my twin boys communion suits from target. They had navy or black. Cat and jack brand. I think the pants were $18.99 and jacket was $26.99. I found it in store but since i have twins i had to order additional size options online.

My boys have been ring bearers and the time we needed tuxedos we rented from the same place as the groom and groomsmen so we were able to negotiate a good price. We used mens warehouse.

My 2 boys (4 and 7 years old) have been asked to be ring bearers for a wedding in June. Any suggestions to buy a suit or tux? I'm looking at rentals, and they cost just as much as buying one. The bride just wants it to be black. She's not picky. I'm looking on Amazon, but not sure about sizing and quality.

Any other moms have children as ring bearers?

I think you've got the beginnings of a good compromise going and I don't think you need to "suck it up" in terms of what you need to have a good weekend. I think a direct conversation with your DH could set you all up for a really enjoyable time. You said you think you'll feel unwilling or unable to ask for help, but that's likely the key to success here.

If it were me (and I'm terrible at asking for help, even more so when i feel like it's incoviencing my husband), I'd tell my husband my worries before the trip and ask him to help me come up with a plan to manage the expectations and anxiety that will crop up. You could come up with a "wish list" of things you'd like to have happen - a rental car, dedicated time each day to be alone to work, permission to leave events with the baby early knowing he's got your back if family asks questions, his help in getting his family on board to do some childcare, him agreeing to check with you before saying yes to any last minute plans (like golfing), a code word or phrase that will let him know you need support when you're in the midst of lots of family excitement. Agree with what you're both comfortable with before you go & hopefully he'll be supportive. Try to just enjoy the trip as well. It seems like it has great makings of a really good time!

It sounds like you're trying to work remotely during part of this time and that is adding to the general stress about traveling with a baby (and sleep and schedule disruptions that go along with travel).

If you are trying to work, be clear what that looks like (checking email, being on calls, working on a deliverable, etc) and figure out a childcare strategy that makes that possible. Go to a coffee shop to work and leave LO with DH/inlaws, etc.

Also, have a frank conversation about DH about what went wrong during your last trip and what you can do differently this time (which may include staying at a hotel, hiring childcare, etc)

Do you have to be without a car? A car rental would be cheaper than a hotel and gives you a way to escape when needed. If you do want to stay in a hotel a few days, I'd think the nights closest to the wedding would be most hectic, so do a hotel then (you can say you want to be closer to take the baby back from the wedding or something) and stay at the house in the earlier days when it might be less crazy at the house.

Also, if your husband misses your signals, you may have to be more vocal about what you need. And consider asking other relatives for baby help--more hands might allow you to get more work done (make sure DH has made it clear up front that you must work remotely).

Why would you ask them if you could stay in a hotel? It's her wedding but it's not like that kind of decision is up to them 🤷🏻‍♀️. Just tell your in-laws you've decided it's best to stay in a hotel and do what's best for your family.

My in-laws live on the other side of the country (5hr plane ride). My SIL is getting married shortly and we're all in the wedding party (my husband and I and our 8 month old daughter). My SIL and I aren't super close but she's lovely and I asked her to be in my wedding party in 2014 so I'm happy to be there for her big day.

This is a really chaotic time at work for me, so taking this much time (a week and a half, for this and another wedding) is really tough and I will have a lot of work to do, so need help with baby care for LO.

So into the meat of the issue; SIL asked us to stay with her at her house. It is a large home way outside the downtown with 6 bedrooms. The problem is all of her new in-laws are staying there as well, at least 6 people (groom's mother, brother, sister, father, and some of their significant others). We will have our own room, but there will be people sleeping on the couches etc. My in-laws love company and parties so they are quite excited and in the run up to the wedding there is a party every night (bachelorette/stag, beach bbq, rehearsal dinner, party after the wedding at the house, goodbye brunch).

I am so worried about LO sleeping through this, not being fussy at the wedding with all the schedule disruption, and I'm not really great with crowds so I don't want my anxiety rubbing off on baby.

I asked if we could stay at a hotel downtown to make it easier for everyone since they would already have a lot on their plate but my FIL told us that SIL is upset about not having a shower and her friends not being super supportive and really wants us to stay with them. We agreed that we'd stay downtown for the first couple of nights but join them for four nights through the wedding.

DH will have a lot to do and I'm terrified of being stuck in a remote house with no car, lots of strangers, and a fussy baby. DH often struggles to pick up when I'm uncomfortable and unwilling to say "please stay and help!" when his parents ask him to do something/pick something up/play golf, as we learned when we were there for a week earlier this summer and I got stuck in the house alone with baby and tons of work to do remotely.

What should I do? Should I suck it up? Any tips/coping strategies I can employ? I want this to be a happy time for my SIL but not make LO a cranky mess and me ridden with anxiety...
