@pastemoo: I am just happy that we didn't actually spend money on it, someone passed it down to us but it was basically brand new when they gave it to us.

@artbee: Eh, wipes are totally grosser than poop. Just like Mrs. Bee says she prefers to use water to wipe off her babies after a blow out... I almost wish I could only do that.

@cyndistar3: I think I will tell my husband that--I'd prefer not to buy any extra things than really necessary.

yeah I read about mold growing in homemade wipes (the kind where you cut a paper towel roll in half, put it in a Tupperware kind of container, then soak with your own concotion)... Apparently some tea tree oil can combat it, but still grossed me out, so I spray LO with a homemade recipe then use a soft wipe.

I started using a wipe warmer but quickly ended. I didn't carry a wipe warmer around with me everywhere so I was sick of my daughter screaming everytime we were out and I had to change her diaper. She quickly got used to the room temp wipes after I didn't use warm ones anymore.

@pastemoo: wipes are fresh and clean! Poo.... is not.

Living in Florida I figured a wipe warmer wouldn't be necessary, but sometimes I do feel bad using a cold wipe on my lo's tush. However I'm too cheap to do anything about it, and she hasn't complained yet.

@cvbee: LOL> I actually accidentally offended BIL and SIL (new parents as of 5 weeks ago) because I thought they were one of the those useless things that people with too much $$ buy and then don't use.
Turns out they LOVE it (also they are very much budget parents). Apparently baby prefers the warmer wipe.
Wipes creep me out, no matter the temp. To me wipes are grosser than poop.

we're going to cloth diaper and use cloth wipes as well. we registered for a wipes warmer- i am planning on keeping dry cloth wipes in them and spraying them down with my homemade solution right before each use. best of both worlds, IMO.

Hmm, I like my wipe warmer and we use go through the wipes pretty quickly so I'm not too concerned about bacteria.

For unknown reasons I feel the need to say:

When I was babysitting I really disliked the wipe warmer. I know this is irrational, but I felt like it was unsanitary because it seemed to be warming the wipes to that special temperature that bacteria loves for growing. It sicked me out. I like a nice clean wipe at room temperature.

(But I will be cloth diapering and using cloth wipes anyways.)
