I called and they had me come in for a beta and although I spotted off and on I got positive results and it eventually stopped altogether. Now I am 27 weeks. The fact it stopped is a great sign. I would be more concerned if it got worse and was accompanied by cramping. Any bleeding is scary. It's great you have an appointment, maybe they can do an u/s &amp; draw blood for a beta hcg test (though you'll need to repeat at least once in 2-3d intervals to watch for doubling). I bled a big fish followed by brown spotting for awhile. I had some bleeding with both my pregnancies around 7 weeks. First time, it felt like a lot (had some bleeding for two days), and second time, it was just spotting, but it was bright red. Both times, everything was okay. It's possible you just irritated your cervix or something. With the first, it was more like spotting on and off the entire first trimester, but with the second, I had pretty decent bleeding (including clots) at exactly 8 weeks. Went in the next day for an ultrasound and all looked well. They just called it "unexplained bleeding." I'm almost 36 weeks now. I really truly appreciate the quick response, support, and optimism! </p> <p>For those of you who bled... How much is normal? It made me wish that pregnancy books had pictures with "this is normal" "this is not" though I understand normal is relative. I guess I'm terrified that there's normal bleeding and then there's miscarriage. I have my appointment this afternoon so I'm limiting myself to just this board with no more google searches til then to avoid freaking myself out. I did call off work because I didn't feel I could be present if I went in... I'm a child psychologist and kids pick up when you're not quite there... Plus work is about an hour from home and dr so just in case I didn't want to be that far. Not really sure why I'm justifying my absence on this board other than I feel really guilty every time I miss a day...
