Try the babywearing on a budget group in FB. All carriers listed in that group are under $100 and there are tons of different types/styles from new to well loved. Lots of Ergos in there two.

My votes would be a Tula (standard or toddler depending on LO's size), but they are going to be at least $150/170 for a new canvas or even for a used one....sometimes people like to PIF and will offer them up in the above FB group, but they go quick!

@yoursilverlining: I've always been a little nervous about the wraps. I have a k'tan and loved it when he was small. I haven't tried recently, but I think I can only use the hip position on that one.

@danda: I think the closest is about an hour and a half a way, just doing a quick google.

@Alivoo01: @MoonMoon: Thanks!

@yoursilverlining: @avivoca: I'll check out the consignment shops & the FB group I'm part of. I have no clue why I didn't think to look there. I am just a little nervous about getting used from a consignment shop as I don't know exactly what I'm getting (model, weight limit, pieces missing).

I use my Ergo. I bought mine used on Hellobee for $40. You can sometimes find them under $100 at Target, but it's not often.

We still use our Onya to carry LO (25 months, 30 lbs) on our backs, but it is over $100. LO is very comfortable in it, though, and I believe the weight limit is 45 lbs.

Building off of @Alivoo01: post - the Ergo could work but wouldn't be super comfy for a kiddo that big...we upgraded to a toddler carrier when my daughter was 14 months because she would lean away from us in the short Ergo panel. The toddler carriers I'm most familiar with would be well above your budget...I'm thinking of Beco toddler, Tula toddler, or Kinderpack standard or toddler. If there is a Babywearing International near you I suggest looking into that...not sure how it varies by area, but membership in my local one is $30 per year and gives you ability to check out one carrier per month (due back the next month) so you could see what works at meetings and its a low budget way to borrow what works best.

We have the toddler Tula and really like it, but it's over $100

What about wraps? Could you find any at a consignment shop or resale FB group under $100?

I’ve also used my ring sling with my toddler, but it’s really not as comfortable as the Tula.

I'm looking for a carrier to carry my 22month old in. We have a k'tan, and really didn't wear it too much when he was younger, as we didn't get out and do too much. There are many times where DS wants to be carried, but I would like my hands free. Even if it's when I'm cooking dinner, I'd like to try one out! I would do the k'tan, but I think that would only really work using the hip carry, and I'm worried that wouldn't really hold him too well if he gets wiggly.

We don't really do things too often, but it would be a nice option to have. I'd be looking for a decent price (under $100, and DH would definitely find that too high to spend on something we really don't "need"), and I know that Boba is around that price, but don't know of any other options.

We don't have a babywearing group around me (that I can find) so I can't talk to anyone there to try some out, other than going to BBB or BRU.

I used to bf my LO in both a stretchy wrap and a woven wrap, but I never found it that easy. I have huge boobs that are not exactly pert, so I always had to use one hand to hold them in position for him!

The Sakura bloom ring sling is really nice for breastfeeding. BUT, I didn't really like it for an everyday carrier. I've managed to nurse her in the Ergo, and it was super easy & comfortable. I love the Ergo as an everyday carrier, so the nursing piece is a bonus.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I owe you a wall post!

I like ring slings, stretchy wraps, and woven wraps best for nursing a small baby. Ring slings have the smallest learning curve, and are available at all price points. You can really nurse in anything that strikes your fancy though!

since I am oh so hopeful that baby number two will breastfeed more easily than my first, I'm hoping to make caring for two under two easier by wearing the new baby everywhere, and would especially like to be able to feed her while I wear her. Anyone have any experience with this? Tips? Suggestions for the easiest sling/ wrap/ carrier to feed in?

Navy_Mommy; Want to be my new best friend and partner in crime on the babywearing front? ;) We think alike. I was just about to pop in and say that a ring sling might not be the best if you want back carries to be a reasonable option. But they are great for easy hip carries!

I just ordered a ring sling for hip carries. I've used a Seven Sling, and I like it, too. I'd like it more if it was a little bit bigger.

FWIW, I've tried the Ergo in hip carry mode a couple times, and I hated it! The front strap was all up on my neck and it was very uncomfortable. If I were you, I wouldn't buy an Ergo just for the hip carry option. But I do love my Ergo for front carry.

We have a Baby Bjorn, do you think the Ergo is too similar to purchase? The Beco, from pics does look like it may be a bit odd for a hip carry. Will look into the hotsling. Thanks!!!
