My parents will tell you I am crazy about car seat safety, that they survived and I survived. ::insert eye roll here:: In terms of food, my boys are gluten,dairy, HFCs, egg free. So I try to make as much from scratch as possible because I can control the ingredients in their diet. She pulls out every clip we put in her hair and has a complete meltdown when her face is wiped. We do our best but sometimes "mostly crumb-free" is the best for everyone's sanity. And I'm OK with that. I'm sure there are moms out in public that give us the side-eye and just assume bad parenting but I don't have time to care about what others think.</p> <p>As for me, I'm picky about her receiving Disney and other heavily character/marketing-driven toys and clothing. If she asks to play with that stuff (which, hello, I'm sure she will) then I'll have a convo with her about what she likes about it and we'll decide if she needs it. She hardly has hair, and I still pull it back. It's a safety thing at school. It makes me crazy when other toddlers run around with hair in their eyes so they can't see.</p> <p>Also, properly fitting and good shoes. I don't care if they're expensive.</p> <p>I wouldn't say I'm a fanatic about the car seat, but I do like to check when someone else has out her in. We've flipped back and forth from RF to FF several times for long trips, and I can't bring myself to leave her FF quite yet. It's funny, though, because I would find it totally reasonable for someone else to flip FF if they felt they needed to. I just can't do it myself yet! DH's aunt was telling us that she picks up her granddaughter after school, and the car seat is a pain so she only clicks in one side. They are only going "a mile down the road." I almost fainted. She was born with a full head of strawberry blonde hair. At 9 months it is past her ears. She gets terrrrrrrible mats in the front from naps and in the back from her stroller. If I don't keep up with combing the, out nighttime post bath comb is a terrible screaming match. Detanglers help minimally. DH is bad about it; he hates making her cry. I'm in a month group on Facebook and talk has already come up about not vaccinating, complete with all kinds of misinformation. Makes my head spin around like the girl from the Exorcist... </p>
