I'm 10.5 mos PP and no sign of AF. My lo has been STTN since 7 mos when we sleep trained. We are currently doing solids 3x a day and are trying to give her 2 bottles in place of BFing during the day to see if that helps entice AF to return. I would like to be pregnant in Jan/Feb!

I thought mine wouldn't come back til I weaned either (since my LO was a nursing addict!), but mine came back 15 months pp... I continued to BF, including sometimes in the MOTN, and still was able to get pregnant a few cycles after it came back.

@junebugmama: oh, that's true. I've been paranoid lately that I've been pregnant. Every time I feel a little nauseous I test. Is it sad I have a stash of dollar store tests under my sink? We really don't want to be trying yet... but we haven't been preventing, so there's a chance it could happen.

@junebugmama: that's reassuring. I'm hoping I either just get pregnant with out a period or get my period back around when DS is 16 months.

@Kemma: I didn't realize your LO's birthday was the day after my son's birthday! haha I think I'm a little crazy for thinking about #2, especially since DS still wakes up frequently during the night. I think looking back at his newborn photos is giving me the fever.

@Anutka: He definitely likes to nurse during that time. In the last month though it's been mostly comfort nursing. I don't feel a letdown or anything. I wonder if that makes a difference?

Thanks all for your feedback! I'm glad to know others didn't get their period for awhile too.

Mine came back at around 6 months PP with Ellie, but she was heavily supplemented. With Lorelei I was able to EBF and it came back at 16 months PP. You shouldn't have trouble TTC once your cycles are back, especially if they are fairly regular. Mine came back and were like clockwork again right away.

@mrskc: Wow, I'm in the same situation! Except we're ready to TTC #2 now.
I've read on the LLL forums that prolactin levels are highest between 1:00am - 6:00am, so night nursing can effect the return of AF.
Ditto to thinking I'm preggo every other week....

I actually saw my doc about this last week because I'm 11 months pp and no period. I also breastfeed through the night but also have pcOS, so i suspect that is a complicating factor. DH wanted to try for #2 like 6 months ago, lol, and my dr is convinced i'll neef to wean for my period to return so I have to wean when she's one. I'm so utterly sad about it, I know my age and PCOS mean we can't put off TTC but still, sad
