DD is like this right now! Fever, seemed lethargic, but refuses to sleep. All she wants to do is play!

Um this is DD right now!!! All of a sudden I noticed she was burning and her temp was 101.3. She has been lethargic but appetite and diapers and mood are all relatively normal. Maybe a little bug? I would keep DD home though -- that is a pretty high fever.
@HLK208: i'm wondering about a UTI because she really fought me washing down there during her bath the past 2 nights.

No other symptoms for us was roseola but the doctor tested her for UTI too. I would keep her home if I were you.

I've called the nurse a couple of times to ask about fever, and they have always told me that the number doesn't matter so much as the temperament. If they have a 99 fever, but seem miserable, they need to come in. If they have a 102 but seem fine, then just keep an eye on them. That's just my ped's advice, though.

LO also had a high fever for about 2 days when she was 12 months and was otherwise fine (though slept a lot more). We never ended up taking her into the doctor, but switched to motrin after a day and that seemed to help it break a lot. I would keep her home from daycare, though.

I called the nurse line for DD's temperature once and she said that as long as she was acting normal she was ok. I wouldn't take your LO to daycare tomorrow, but I wouldn't be too worried either :)

DS had a higher than 102 temperature for a few days, then he broke out in a rash. Roseola!

I don't send my kids to daycare, so not sure what the fever rules are.

Hope it breaks soon though!

My 12 mo DD has been running a fever since last night - ranging from about 100.5-102.5. She's teething and a little tired/cranky, but other than the fever has no symptoms of illness. Diapers and appetite are normal and she is drinking a lot of water. At first I chalked it up to teething, but temps in the 102s seem quite high for teething.

So - I should just keep her home tomorrow, right? Anyone experienced this?
