Thanks everyone!!! I ended up calling our pediatrician's office and they told me to feed him a tsp of BM every 15 minutes for an hour and if he's able to keep that down, slowly increase how much I feed him, and also continue to offer solids, but only a BRAT diet.

So we followed the instructions in the beginning and he was eating both BM and solids well, so after his nap, I nursed him like normal and he was able to keep it down. He didn't have very much in the way of solids all day, but he nursed fine the rest of the day and was in a good mood, so whatever it was, I think he's feeling better!

@Smurfette: Thanks for asking - he seems fully recovered, although not as interested in solids at the moment, so I'm guessing his stomach is still bothering him a little.

I don't worry unless it continues. Definitely offer again. My LO always eats after he pukes. One more time or one additional symptom would cause me to call...

My son did that once as well, it was a virus and we were on vacation. He got sick in the night and didn't call for us, and then actually projectile vomited in the restaurant during breakfast, good times.

We just went through projectile vomiting with no other symptoms. Pediatrician checked his ears and turns out he had an ear infection, even though there was no ear grabbing or apparent pain.
She advised to feed BRAT foods and keep hydrated with pedialyte

There is a nasty baby bug going around right now. My 11 mo had it just before Christmas. Started with vomiting and turned into diarrhea and cold symptoms. She only had a fever one day and seemed mostly like herself - just a bit more tired.

Do you think it is allergy related or sick related?

If it is sick related: Don't do solids. If the stomach is upset is worse. Try to do very small (an oz) feedings of breast milk until he isn't vomiting. The major thing is to keep them from being dehydrated but not over do it for the stomach.

If you think it is allergy related: ugh, this is harder because I would feed as normal but it may last until the allergy/intolerance is out of both your and his systems. Which sucks I know I have been there.

Aaw... poor little guy! :( My oldest projectile vomited before (not much though) and had major eczema all over his body at 8 weeks. He ended up having dairy and soy protein allergies. If you're concerned I would definitely call his ped.

It could be a bug he picked up from day care yesterday. I would call the pedi to see what they think you should do.

Did he some how accidentally eat something with milk in it? My LO projectile vomits when she eats eggs so we've concluded she's allergic.

I would just nurse for a few minutes and see if he can keep it down. If not, definitely call your doctor. Though you might want to anyway.

Xander woke up this morning and I nursed him like normal, but after I was done and had changed his diaper, he projectile vomited everywhere!! I also noticed that he vomited sometime last night in his sleep and apparently slept in it (gross!). He doesn't have a fever and seems to be in a decent mood besides the vomiting...

Any advice? Do I need to try to nurse him again? Should I feed him solids like normal?
