Good head control isn't usually happening until at least 3 months. My LO sucked at tummy time until one day she just "got it." I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep doing short stretches as she tolerates.

@SeptMomma12: I used an ergo with him. It's necessary for the carrier to support his neck because his neck muscles would get too tired. But i think wearing him helps because he's upright and working against gravity somewhat plus he will gain strength as he starts to look around, turn his head side to side etc. I'm not an option expert but my son always had a super strong neck despite never doing tummy time.

@QBbride: What kind of carrier did you use? We have a Bjorn and an Ergo but I feel like both of those support her neck all the way.

I wouldn't be too worried but it's worth keeping an eye on. I never ever did tummy time (my DS spat up a ton) but I wore him A LOT in the carrier and I think that really strengthened his neck muscles. Could you wear him around??

@SeptMomma12: I would just mention it at the next checkup but wouldn't be too concerned at this point. DS was the same way but he had torticollis and a HUGE head (100th percentile!)

At this point I probably wouldn't worry about it, just make an effort to focus on it, keep an eye on it, and mention it to the ped at the next appointment. But 11 weeks is definitely still within the range of normal to still be working on head control.

I feel like my 11 week old has very poor head control compared to the other babies we see her age. We do tummy time on the boppy and on the play may a few times a day, and she'll lift her head a few times but not much - doesn't cry but just kinda lays there and sucks her arm. Should I be concerned at this point?
