We're going through the same thing. We're letting LO play with her toys outside the bath while it fills and then have her watch us put them in the bath tub. That seems to be helping a little bit.

Could you try to just put him in the big tub without the infant tub? Once the twins started splashing I started both of them in the big tub with toys.

@mkp17: hahaha - normally my husband gives the baths (although sometimes I do), but I think while we're going through this transition, it's going to be a two-person operation!! Last night I had to hold him while sitting in the tub with him while my husband quickly tried to bathe him!

Seems like it is pretty normal...we weren't even making the transition to the big tub, had already been in it about a week or two. Toys didn't work for us either, but it did pass pretty quickly. I just made my husband give her a bath for those days :)

@mkp17: @fancyfunction: @autumnlove: Wow! So I guess it's fairly normal, then! We do have bath toys for Xander, but they definitely didn't help distract him his first time in the big tub! Hopefully he'll get used to it quickly though. :D

Same here - almost 14 months and recently starting bathing her in the big tub with no baby tub at all. Total freak out! So we do quick baths and make sure to give her some toys to play around with which helps a bit.

We just had a 3-4 day spell of DD being hysterical when it was bathtime. We just did super short baths during that time and after a couple of days she is back happily playing in the tub.

We had to bathe with our LO from 12-15 months. Shaking, crying and then grew out of it. Wasn't fun, but I know a lot of people who had similar issues!

So we have been bathing Xander in an infant tub in the kitchen (it sits over the sink) so we're at eye level with him and everything. He LOVES it!!! But lately he's been splashing a lot more and making a mess, so we decided to move his infant tub into our bath tub in the bathroom. Well... as soon as we started to lower Xander into his tub (which was inside the big tub), he FLIPPED OUT!!! Started crying hysterically and just freaking out!! I ended up getting into the big tub with him, but he continued to cry throughout the whole bath and I had to hold him the whole time because he wouldn't relax and let us sit him down in the tub! And then he continued to cry for 5-10 minutes after!!!

Anyone else deal with something similar to this??? Any advice on how to make the next bath less traumatizing???
