I'd planned on being out of the house today, so we will find out if that makes a difference. I'm also going to set up his water table in the back yard. I'm hoping a new fun activity will make him forget to be mad.

I say this because DS has a HUGE daddy preference so it isn't until my DH actually leaves that we get to spend quality time. He will whine and scream for daddy if he knows DH is home - if he's gone DS is way calmer and sweeter towards me.

Can you leave the house for a few days? I think that would give you a better shot at getting work done and give them a chance to bond.

I agree - either you should leave the house, or the nanny should take LO out. Maybe if she could take him somewhere like a park, it will help because he's used to being at home with his other nanny?

@Jess1483: agree. I WAH too and having the kids around when I'm working doesn't work for either of us. I would suggest either the nanny takes your LO out or you work outside the home if possible.

My son has a lot more trouble with caregivers if I'm in the house. Could you leave the house for a few days and work elsewhere to see if it might get better. My son will not give in if he' knows I'm in the house, but if I'm not around, the crying/screaming is usually much shorter. Maybe give that a few days?

So my son (12 months) has a new nanny just for the summer because his regular nanny had to make other arrangements for the summer. The new nanny is nice and energetic and tries to have fun with him, but he has been crying constantly for the whole first three days. I work from home, so I can hear her trying to get him to play and him screaming his head off and trying to crawl to my office to see me. I think he is just having trouble transitioning from his usual nanny, whom he adored. In general, he is EXTREMELY set in his ways. Any tips? I thought he'd get better with time, but he seems to be getting angrier about the situation with each passing day. I'm not getting any work done at home, so I'm basically losing money by having to pay the nanny but not being able to work myself.
