your story sound so much like mine. swaddling def helped and the first few naps, someone had to sleep night to him, so whenever he woke up we could try to coax him back to sleep. right now, he sleeps 2 hrs in the morning but afternoon naps aren't too great. slowly but surely.

Honestly... you may just have to keep putting her down. C was used to sleeping on us the first few weeks and fought laying down anywhere. We just started putting her down on her own. She would sleep 30-45 minutes and then wake up. I'd let her be awake for a while and as soon as she looked tired again, I'd put her down again. Rinse and repeat. It took a few days, but she started sleeping fine on her own.

If a regular swaddle doesn't work, try what's called a double swaddle. It's saved my life! Just google it and the video should pop up on youtube.

Yep! I have the same sleep situation except mine is even a little bit worse. DD is an amazing sleeper at night, with only one night feeding, like your baby. However, during the day she will not take naps longer than 30 minutes. That includes naps in my arms. Does swaddling your baby for naps help? It doesn't help my daughter unfortunately, but maybe it will help yours. I've tried absolutely everything to extend DD's naps, and nothing works, so I've basically just given up. I plan to tell her daycare that she doesn't nap for me for more than 30 minutes at a time, but that if they can find any way to make her sleep longer then please tell me. I figure the daycare has probably seen all of this before, so they probably have more ways to convince baby to nap than I do!

Swaddle her! If you think her moro reflex (her arms jumping randomly) is what's waking her a Swaddle would be your best bet.

I am getting ready to go back to work in a couple of weeks and trying to get my baby to take better naps during the day. I feel so bad for the baby sitter!
My baby loves to sleep however during the day she only sleeps for longer than 30 minutes in my arms! She can stay asleep for up to two hours (even more if i let her!) in my arms. However this is not ideal and whenever I say okay lets see if she will stay .. I put her down and she either wakes right up or only sleeps for an additional 20 to 30 minutes. It seems as if her arms jump up and that's what wakes her up.
Ive tried laying her on her bouncer, my bed, her bassinet, her crib, her swing and its all the same!

However she does really good at night 90% of the time. She goes to bed by 10pm (starts getting fussy around 730-8pm) and will stay asleep until around 3 am for a feeding and then falls right back to sleep until about 630-730am... sometimes shes slept in until 930am!

help.. any tips?

I literally go back to work full time in 11 days!
