She finally cut 11 & 12 a few days ago and sleep has been better. Molars 3 & 4 still have yet to cut!

@Sammyfab: her top two actually cut first and we never even knew they came in until we saw it!

I totally agree with @sarac that there are multiple regressions caused by a variety of different reasons. I also completely agree that babies sleep needs are constantly changing (I've read every 3-4 weeks or so) so you can't just assume they will stick to the same schedule forever.

My LO's bottom molars came around 12 months. His top 2 followed a couple of months later. The bottom 2 didn't bother him as much but the top 2 were a nightmare. He is cutting his 4 canines now at 16 months and I've heard they're the worst. His teeth don't affect his sleep but he is a screaming, tantruming, don't touch me d@mmit mess!!!! I'm not sure what's worse  .

Hope your regression ends soon!

This whole '4 month sleep regression' being the only and specific one is kind of a myth, imho. Most babies change the way they sleep early on (mine was 5 months), and then many babies are inconsistent after that. My 21 month old still sleeps through the night for a few weeks, then she'll wake up once for a while, then she'll go back, then she'll have a terrible few weeks of wakeups if she's sick or something. Most children don't just assume a pattern and stick to it forever. Some, probably, but not most.

@Lindsay05: C cut her first two at about 12.5 months.

I don't know about a regression but the molars sure are a bitch. We;re working on the 2nd set right now too and C has lost her mind. She hasnt acted like this since she was a colicky newborn. She's been having 30 minute long screaming tantrums.

Holy. Effing. Balls. I was just about to post this! Sleep is a nightmare! All he does is SCREAM and SCREAM. The only way to calm him down is to give him a bottle, *GASP* yes, I said bottle. Judge me if you will, but mamas gotta do what she's gotta do when it comes to sleep dammit. He's currently on my lap watching care bears (gasp again, yes I'm THAT parent...sue me!)I ;-)

@regberadaisy: We totally did. Although at the time, I didn't realize it was a regression and associated it with some other attachment issues. Being wiser now, I realize it was a regression and just made it worse by assuming attachment.

@regberadaisy: Is this why I had the night from hell last night?!?!?! I swear she woke up every 2 hours. I checked her gums to see if she was teething but didn't feel anything.

Although I think she was punishing me because I went to party last night at 7:30 and left her with her Daddy. She didn't go to sleep until about 9:30 because I normally do bedtime.

But she's also been waking up at 4:30/5 a.m. at least once a week to party.

I hope this is just a fluke!

@tequiero21: ugh. I'm really hoping I luck out and her "regression" is only 1-2 weeks like other babies. :( Our 4 month lasted 3.5 months.

I'm convinced there is a 13/14 month sleep regression. It's the only explanation for the c-r-a-p sleep around here lately.

LO goes down around 7:30 ish (fights it most days).
Wakes up every 40-45 minutes until 11 pm.
Then wakes up every 1-2 hours after that.

It's like the 4 month regression all over again. Yippee! Not.

This morning she was up and ready to go at 4:20 am. Four. Twenty. AM.

I guess 18 months is a common sleep regression bc most babies cut their 4 molars then. But LO already has 2 (did not bother her one bit) and is definitely cutting 2 now. And boy are these two rough!

Anyone else's LO go through a 13/14 month sleep regression?
