@LaughLines: I know exactly what you mean. I think since this is our first cycle ever with interventions (I've been pregnant three times with one kiddo) we are trying to do the bare minimum. If I don't get a positive opk by early next week, I might be calling my doctor for another u/s to see what's up.

@crazydoglady: well i hope it works for you! maybe you were ovulating too early before and your eggs weren't mature enough yet. If I were you I would want another scan around CD16 or CD 17 because I think that will give you more information. You'll be able to see how much they've grown and see how big they are around the time of a positive opk.

I understand that the scans are expensive, but if you don't get pregnant this month then you'll probably do more next month so you'd end up paying for more scans then, too... I guess I just try to get more information faster instead of waiting for subsequent cycles and getting the same amount of information (and spending money) over a longer period of time. If you do 2 scans this month and don't get pregnant, next month you can do your scan later because you'll know more already and will save money next month. I only ever did scans on CD17 after I knew that's when I ovulated so I saved money by not doing one around 12 or 13

@LaughLines: This is our first medicated cycle, so it's basically a "let's see what works" kind of cycle. The dr is hoping that it will increase egg quality and give me a "stronger" ovulation. My only symptom is early-ish positive opks and not getting pregnant. My TSH levels are normal. We are going to do the full blood panel and SA next month if this doesn't work.

@crazydoglady: PCOS is tricky to diagnose, not everyone who has it has the same symptoms. Why are you taking femera if you've gotten positive opk's before? Do you have other symptoms?

@LaughLines: Thanks! I haven't been tested for PCOS but I am guessing they could tell on the ultrasound? Best of luck to you!

I always ovulated on CD18 with femera or clomid. I would get a surge on CD17.

thought, i never had "normal" months where i ovulated on cd14 like a "normal" person. I have PCOS so i didn't ovulate at all without clomid or femera, but when i took those it was CD18

my doc said follicles "normally" grow 2mm per day but mine were always slower than that. I think it's important to remember that everyone is different and if the average is 2mm/day there are people faster than that and people slower than that

I don’t remember my follicle numbers but it’s very common to ovulate later on meds. So probably they will be just right when you get than positive opk! They also don’t necessarily grow linearly ... it can happen kind of overnight when you get close. I’d just keep testing, expect later o but be prepared for earlier.

Not sure what I am looking for...other than, "is this normal?" But I just had my first follicle scan at cd 12 (I typically get a positive opk on cd 12-14) but, when I had the scan today, the Dr told me I have two follicles that are only 13mm and my lining in getting there but not quite yet. She doesn't think I will O until cd 17-18 which is really late for me. This is my first time using femara so I don't know if it pushed it back. She also thought the follicles were "slow growers." She said I could come in for another scan on Friday but we are paying out of pocket completely and I don't want to throw another scan if this is just a bust. She told me to trigger when I get a positive opk.

Not sure what I looking for but anyone have any insights, similar stories, etc? Thanks!
