@cake2017: all my kids have switched around the same age and I switched my most recent kiddo because of the same issues, short naps and more consolidated sleep is better! My kiddo actually napped 3 hours today!

@cake2017: my 14 month old wakes by 6 am daily and naps at 12:45, asleep by 1 and sleeps until 3. Has been on 1 nap for two months and was sleeping 7:30-6:30 before with a 2.5 hour nap, but is teething I think so sleeping in and napping longer has taken a hit.

@Clementine12: She’s good at night. I just put her down and she’s asleep. So I will see how today goes- I put her down at 6 last night and she slept till 630am. She has a pacifer so will be posting on how to wean from that in a month or so- she only has it for bedtime-naps. I did not use it for DS but she had a strong desire to suck as a baby and it worked so we’ve been on it.

@cake2017: that's a good sign! how was the night sleep? 1 nap/day is kind of nice for planning to do other things during the day.

Yep, same. Dropped around 13 months. His naps got short, 30-45 minutes short, and he fought them both. Transitioning to one nap at noon took a bit of time but was easier than I expected and he was ready. Stopped fighting his naps and went to 2-2.5 hours. She may not be able to make it to 1, especially at first, because 6 am - 1 pm is a long wake window. Can you be flexible during the transition and gradually get her used to stretching to 1 p.m.?

@Clementine12: I was going to say the same. My second dropped her morning nap before 13 months. It seemed crazy early to me, but she has always needed a little less sleep.

Hello- dd will be 14 months in 2 days- she’s been resisting the morning nap or takes it 45 mins. I prefer two naps a day it’s usually like this-

wake time 6-630
1st nap at 9am
lunch at noon
2nd nap at 1
dinner at 5
bed at 615-630.

now she is fighting both or they are very short.
I’d like to stay close to her three year old brother who naps at 1pm.

thoughts?

Today I put her down at 1230pm...

I must keep the bedtimes the same and wake times. she sleeps through the night- i don’t go in because she sleeps or settles in 5 mins...

tia.
