@MamaMoose: No lovey. At home she doesn't need anything (except some white noise- right now it is a fan). A couple books, put down in her crib a awake, close the door on the way out and she puts herself right to sleep.
Do you think introducing a lovey or transition object may help?

Daycare has tried everything except leaving her alone in a room (which they aren't allowed to do by law, here). But it isn't just daycare; she doesn't sleep ANYWHERE except home. I mean, not at grandma's, usually not in the car, etc. She needs to be alone with white noise in order to fall asleep. If so much as a leaf skitters by the window she will be too interested in it to doze off.
When we were out of town at a hotel, she was up from 4am until 12 midnight with one 20 min. conk out in her stroller because I couldn't replicate her home sleep environment. Even then she woke up every hour or so. It got better when we got to our destination and she was able to have her own room for the duration, but naps still sucked.

what does her daycare do to try and get her to nap? do they rock her to sleep? do they have a designated nap time?

Does she have a lovey? A song she likes you to sing when she naps? What tricks are you using at home that you could teach your day care provider?

I think if I were in your situation and LO literally NEVER napped at day care I would probably pull her out and get a nanny.

And I work, so that is a problem!
We are going into our second year of no naps between 6:30am and 3pm if she is not at home. On working days, I pick her up around 2:45ish and she is home and sleeping by 3. I always waffle on when to wake her up, but I usually wake her at 5, dinner at 5:30, bed at 7.
We have made do, but I worry because she is always tired, sleeps crappy at night and naps 4 hours on the weekend days.
Anyone else have a situation like this? do you have any thoughts on how to do it better?
