I had a marginal placenta previa that resolved itself then came back and resolved itself at the very last minute at 35 weeks! I was put on pelvic rest to prevent bleeding.

Hoping all continues to go well for you and the bleeding stops!

@Alba4: Wow!! We basically have the same story, you are just a month or so ahead of me. I pray I will still be pregnant then. I have a wonderful family thats helping me out. My mom has come up to and my husband is taking time off work, so they are rotating days. My dd knows mama is sick, and thats why i cant pick her up :) she's so sweet. I hope your placenta moves up! Im scared of a c-section but what ever it takes. I like your mantra! This is temporary and SOOOOOO worth it! Thank you for sharing your story! I hope you have easy sailing for the rest of your pregnancy!

@tiramisu: Yes! Like you said, if i didn't have such helpful family, I don't know what i would do. My DR never told me the size or locations of mine but i plan to ask next appt.

@Chloesmommie: That's great that your DH and mom are able to help. After going through this, Im so grateful for my family and my DH cause there is no way I'd be able to manage alone.
About the size of my SCH, it's funny the doctors have never told me the size. They only said it was right above my cervix and to expect more bleeding. But they didn't sound overly concerned about it affecting the baby so I'm hoping for the best.

I could have written your post! Bleeding that much is so scary! I too have had 2 miscarriages prior to this pregnancy.

This current pregnancy I have a complete placenta previa and the SCH cleared up.

At 12 weeks I was getting out of the car to go into my DS's daycare building, when I felt a gush of blood. When I went to the bathroom, it was bright red and I assumed the worst. The Dr. had me come in the next morning, where we saw a heartbeat and found a small subchorionic bleed. I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks (around Xmas). No lifting my son, laying down as much as possible, etc.

Another week later, I went back to work for a week. That Friday night I woke up to a big bleed and passed the largest blood clot I had ever seen, close to the size of my palm. I was convinced it was the placenta or sac, something bad. I went in the next day and the baby was still thriving!! But, I was diagnosed with a complete placenta previa. I received a Dr.s note and immediately went on a medical leave from work (teaching is a physical job!) and was put on pelvic rest and modified bed rest. I also am taking progesterone.

I'm currently 27.5 weeks along and haven't bleed since. My placenta unfortunately hasn't moved yet, so all my restrictions are still in place. I'm preparing myself mentally for a c-section.

Please know you aren't alone. It is scary to hear about complications in pregnancy. I cried a lot with the diagnosis. Ive come to terms with what is going on and have accepted my situation. As hard as it is not being able to carry my 2.5 around, I'm home with him everyday and we have lots of cuddles together.

Do you have help? We have such generous parents that come weekly to help with our DS. Your Partner will also have to step up their role, but my mantra has been that it is temporary!!

Thinking of you!

@T.H.O.U.: I was just about to ask if anyone knew anything about stopping aspirin around 14 weeks, if it would hurt baby if i DID have a clotting disorder, but if it was making the SCH worse then............I know nothing about all that. I like your answer though :)and it makes sense. Thank you!

@Chloesmommie: I was also on aspirin with mine and they told me to stop. I think it was the right move. By this point the baby umbilical cord should be a bit thicker and less likely to have an issue with a clot. No idea how scientific this is, just what I told myself to feel better. I think i read it somewhere on google.

@Shantuck: Thank you! Im so glad the bleeding has stopped. I hope you get a good report next week and we both have a easy pregnancy from here on out!

@LulaBee: No :( i had an appt with RE the week after i found out i was pregnant, so i had no testing. I was on baby aspirin until a few days ago and on progesterone until 12 weeks. Dr told me to stop aspirin because it can make SCH worse. but i was taking it as a precaution for a blood clot disorder.......

@Mrsbells: Thank you!!

@tiramisu: Your story give me hope and helps me feel better about my situation! Im so sorry you're still bleeding. Thats so crazy. Do they know if yours is shrinking? My mom and DH are both helping me with my toddler. Thank God!! Thank you for sharing your story!

@Chloesmommie: Hugs. I know it's so scary to be going through this. There's a good chance the placenta could move since it's early. It's also good that your bleeding has turned brown. Hang in there, drink lots of water and take it super easy for the next few weeks (easier said than done with a toddler).
I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I was diagnosed with a SCH around 11 weeks and later placenta previa at 18 weeks. At 11 weeks I had slight red bleeding for a day. Then I spotted brown until suddenly around 18 weeks I had a small gush of bright red blood. Since then I've had some red bleeding everyday, but usually fairly light. At 20 weeks the ultrasound showed the previa moved and was no longer an issue, but the SCH was still there. I've been on modified bed rest since 18 weeks. I have an almost 2 yr old and it hasn't been easy for either of us.
I hope yours clears up soon! From what I've read online most do get better by 20 weeks.

I also have a subchoriontic hematoma at the moment. I haven't had any bleeding but I am 9 weeks and it was discovered at my 8 week ultrasound. I also have had two miscarriages in the past year. I did have a second ultrasound and they thought the hematoma was getting smaller. I have another ultrasound next week to check on it again. I do have a close friend who had one that reabsorbed and she's due in a couple weeks. I'm just trying to take it easy and take things day by day. Sorry you are going through this!

@Chloesmommie: Hugs, I'm so sorry, I know it's hard. I didn't have any issues with placenta previa, but I had SCH with both my children. With my first it was just there on the scans...I never bled, but it never resolved. I did have a pretty major bleed when I delivered, though. I lost a lot of blood very fast. During the pregnancy they told me it was between the placenta and the uterine wall, and they think that maybe it was just bigger than they could see, and hemorrhaged when the placenta detached after delivery.

With my second I bled for about a month (off and on) during the first trimester. I actually went to the ER at 10 weeks because I was having terrible, terrible back pain with bleeding, and I was just sure I was miscarrying. Turns out I had another SCH AND a kidney stone  . The SCH eventually resolved, although they kept a close eye on me...I honestly lost track of how many ultrasounds I got. Both kids were perfectly healthy!

Big hugs, and good luck!!!

@T.H.O.U.: Wow! Thats basically how the ER was with me. I don't get it. So you had to go through that. I go back in 2.5 weeks. I will be 17weeks then. Thankfully I have a doppler at home that i have been using every few days to check on baby. otherwise, Id be up there every week. I hate that I don't know anything else, other than I have 1 or more SCH. He didn't tell me the size or location and i was too distraught to ask :( Oh well, I'm sure we will know more in a couple of weeks.

@Chloesmommie: I ended up in the ER at only like 8 weeks. They were ready to discharge me as a miscarriage (since they knew it wasn't ectopic because we had already had an u/s with our OB). I pushed for the scan and they just said, yup there is a heartbeat, follow up with your OB.

Monday morning the OB repeated the scan and told me about the SCH which apparently was pretty large. I continued to lightly bleed for the next 4 weeks and thankfully my OB let me come in whenever I needed for a check on baby. I think the most I went was like 10 days between checks just because I was so scared and still having issues. Still didn't get great news at the 1st tri screening because the SCH was still there. However, by 18-20 weeks it seemed to finally clear up and wasn't on the ultrasounds anymore. I think usually they clear up early on, mine seemed to take a while.

I'm so sorry you are going through this! How scary! I am 14 weeks also and was sent to the hospital at 7 weeks for spotting, fever, and back pain. It turns out that I had a small SCH along with a UTI. I haven't had any bleeding since then, and I pray that you have no additional bleeding either.

@Chloesmommie: Im so sorry. I was in the same position with 2 losses and then a SCH. My doctor wasn't too hopefully (basically gave me 50/50 odds). Luckily we pulled through though! I hope you can do the same.

I know its hard to not pick up your older child but it is good practice for when the new baby comes. It also helped that DH stuck to the no pick up rule. He had a habit when we would be shopping that he would carry her from the car to the store. I had to explain that while it was ok for him to physically do it, I need his help to teach her that in situations like that she needed to walk and hold a hand.

I’m 14 weeks pregnant and I woke up to a pool of blood Sunday night and when I sat on the toilet a HUGE clot the size of a lemon came out with more blood. I was so dang scared I knew that was my baby. We rushed to the ER and they only used the doppler but THANK GOD they found the heartbeat!! I went to my DR the next morning for a follow up, where he did an in depth ultrasound and found clot/s in my uterus and my placenta was lying low. He said that I have SCH and placenta previa. He also said I should expect more bleeding. So, now im on bedrest and I cant pick up my 2 yr old. He wants me to come back in three weeks to check on the SCH and previa. I stopped bleeding after the massive clot fell out. Im only spotting brown now. Im so scared and sad. Ive had 2 miscarriages this past year, I cant handle another one…… My dr didnt sound very positive about all of this but everything I’ve read online sounds more hopeful than he did. Has anyone gone through this? Did yours resolve on its own? I’d love to hear your story! Thank you for reading.
