We had a sleep regression at 16 months old! Has it been going on for a long time? I would just wait for it to pass unless you think there might be some medical reason.

We are still dealing with this at 2yrs 1 month. I put her to bed, read stories and leave her room at 7.15pm and its usually 8.30-9pm by the time she goes to sleep. Sometimes, she reads, plays, sings - that's fine. Other nights she screams - that's not so much fun. She just cant seem to wind down at bedtime.

My three year old has days like this where he sings in bed and can't quite settle down. When he was younger, it was infrequent. Now, we really have to tire him out to achieve quick sleep.

@Jass: my LO does this at 19 months and has been like this on & off for few months. He's fine eventually so I just let him hang out. He's also dropping to one nap!

@Jass: my girl is older but some nights I can put her into bed at 1930 but she won't actually fall asleep till after 2030! She happily reads her books and chats with her babies / soft toys so I just leave her to it :-)

You could also try taking her outside in the late afternoon and giving her lots of physical play / exercise to help tire her out for bed.

Yes. LO is 16 months and taking a while to settle for sleep at night. Last night I put him down because I thought he was ready, but then felt guilty because he was in bed for ages before he fell asleep!

My dd is 15 months old and is taking more than 1 hr to fall asleep at bedtime. She is on one nap and has gone from sleeping around 11 hours at night to not even 10. Anyone experienced this kind of situation.
