we dealt with this (around 16 months). the good news is, we didn't have any issues at 18 months, so I think this might have been a combo of teething, learning to walk (more brain activity when they hit a milestone so sleep gets messed up), and a growth spurt (I let him have a small bottle when he woke up around 10pm and then he would sleep until like 7.) It only lasted about 2 weeks, hang in there!

@GoGoSnoGirl: Oh yeah the 1 nap schedule is so limiting. DS is 16 months now and he generally wakes around 7 am, eats lunch at 11 and naps at noon for 2+ hours. He is ready for dinner around 5-5:30 and in bed by 7 pm. I can't push the meal times or sleep times or he gets super crabby. But, if we do everything by that schedule he's happy as a clam and sleeps through (exceptions being illness or teething).

Whatever it is, I hope it's temporary. 14-15 months was pretty unpredictable for us :bummed:

@macintosh: I had forgotten you had a post about this not that long ago, too. Maybe she is. Our problem is that she goes to bed late in order to be able to see DH, so the 2 naps were (are) necessary. I am willing to let her guide a change in sleep timing as long as everyone ends up sleeping & sane. :silly:

@GoGoSnoGirl: is she dropping a nap? My DS dropped to 1 around 15 months.

DD around 16 months would wake MOTN and it was Heck to get her back down, so being newly PG I would toss her in our bed! Well that lead to waking every night yo.come inin our room around 2-4 a.m.
It's now something I've come to love!

@LuLu Mom: how have things been for you lately? Did this resolve? I'm wondering if our 15mo is going through something. Getting her to sleep this past week has been so very hard! 😩 She used to take 2 good naps & fall asleep to her dad's singing each night, but she's fighting sleep like crazy & also up once each night again. We only got about 1 month or so of sttn unfortunately from 13-14 mos, but I was blaming that being short lived on traveling & teething at the same time. At least she was still napping then. I'm hoping there's something to blame this on. :silly: It is truly maddening.

@winniebee: I love you for saying this. E has been waking up at 5 or 5:30 or a month now (she's 17.5 months) and this morning slept until 6:45. You give me hope that maybe those later wake-ups will come back for good!

We had a regression right at 12 months (multiple, inconsolable nighttime wake-ups) and another at 14/15 months (screaming at bedtime and refusing to go down).

In the end, the 12 month one resolved itself after a VERY brutal month or so, and we had to re-sleep train for the 14/15 month one.

Good luck!!!!!!!

Molars??

We had a month of 5:30 am wakings around 16 month. Who the heck knows why - it happened when we were transitioning to 1 nap, which was pleasant. But then went back to waking at 6:30 or so.

@LuLu Mom: @Mrs. Lion: the 18 month regression hit us like a ton of bricks at 16 months. We ended up sleep training because I almost lost my marbles.

There is like an 18 month regression but it can happen between like 16-20 months. It sucked and lasted a few weeks for us - hang in there!

Is there some sort of 15 month sleep regression that I'm unaware of? Our daughter has been sleeping through the night for at least 6 months now, and all of a sudden the last few nights she's up at 2:20, and again at 4. I'm dying over here! I'm not used to middle of the night wake ups anymore. She cries and needs to be consoled to calm down. She isn't teething, so I'm not sure what it could be!
