Mine is 16.5 months, and we are also in the thick of it. And it's definitely becaus of teeth. He's cutting his molars, and the other night was up 3 times that night! He usually goes to bed fine, but was just so pitiful and upset when I'd leave the room, I'd eventually go back in for a quick hug, sing Jesus loves me, then lay him back down, and then he was fine. Just needs so one extra mama comfort. Last night, he didn't make a fuss at all. First time in a week. But he was also up for 2 hours in huge middle of the night refusing to go back to sleep...so there's that. Lol!

@NovBaby1112: Yes!! I felt the same way! The first few nights I didn't mind rocking her and holding her to sleep at all. I couldn't remember the last time I rocked her and it felt soooo nice to do it again! But then after awhile my arms got tired. Baby girl is heavy yo! Haha. Last night I didn't go in and she cried for about 30 minutes and then clonked out. I'm hoping today will be shorter!

@dolphin: I should also add....I would always try to put her to sleep by herself at the beginning of the night, but I could usually tell after her crying for 5 minutes that she wasn't going back down without me rocking her. she would just yell mama mama until I came. Then one night I put her down and she just fussed a bit and went to bed, so I was hopeful that the regression/whatever the heck it was over. good luck, hopefully its just a short phase for you too! I do have to say I really enjoyed the rocking and cuddling during that time, they are getting so big so it was a nice being able to rock her like a baby again :silly:

Oh man this is us... 16 months but the worst lasted about a week. It's still going on but more bearable. I will not be happy if she has the 18 MTh sleep regression too....

We had a bad week or so of sleep right around 15/16 months. Wanting to be rocked to sleep and waking up for a few hours in the MOTN and not going back to sleep. For us, I think it was a combination of molars/canines coming through and wonder week 64. I swear as soon as a wonder week hits my LO's sleep goes to crap for a week; I always think omg is this ever going to end, I think about re training, and then bam- she goes back to STTN and going down easily again. I usually give things like this a good week for them to work on whatever they are working on developmentally and/or teething, and if she needs me to rock her to sleep a few nights for comfort I do it. For us, it almost never lasts more than a week and I never have to "re train". We actually just got over the 18 month sleep regression too, which lasted a week. (because god forbid my LO skip a wonder week or regression! oh no, she cant do that! :silly: )

We sleep trained right around that time, so I'm probably a bad example. I found that checks always make her angrier and restart the screaming cycle, so I opted for extinction.

DD is 16.5 months and usually bedtime is easy. I put her in her crib and walk out of the room and she falls asleep on her own within a few minutes. The past week this suddenly changed. Right when I walk out of the room she starts screaming and crying. I let her cry for about 15 minutes and then go check on her. Right when I leave she starts screaming again. She wants to be rocked and held to sleep. Omg it's like the baby stage all over again! Do I need to sleep train again?! Noooooo! This happen to anyone else? Please tell me it's a short phase!
