My daughter has been on 1 nap a day since about 13 mos (Daycare schedule). We used to get close to 2 hours, sometimes more, now we are happy with 1 hour and thrilled with 1.5 hours (she is 26 mos).

We are lucky though because from when I put her down - it usually takes her 15-20 mins to laid down and sleep. Plus - when she wakes up she likes to do it on her own so another 15-20 mins...its gets me another 30-40 mins on top of the nap time.

As @Mrs. Champagne: said - on weekends we try to really get her active in the morning to encourage a long nap. Plus a nice full tummy from lunch!

You aren't going to like my answer.. DD move to one nap at 12 months and then at 18 months started napping only about 50% of the days or less. She's pretty much dropped her nap now at 2. I still make her stay in her crib for an hour with a few books.

No advice - just mostly following in case there are any tips. She sleeps well at night and I think just loves playing too much to stop.

My son has short naps if he isn't tired enough. I try to run him off his feet in the morning (outside always tired him out!) to get a good nap.

What gives? Lately LO's naps have progressively gotten shorter and shorter. Recently they're 1-1.5 hours long (closer to 1 hour this week), whereas they used to be 1.5-2.5 hours long. He's 17 months old now, and has been on one nap since 13 months.
Has anyone experienced phases of short naps, and your LOs just started sleeping longer? Ugh one hour is just not enough....for me or him!!
He's healthy, not teething, sleeping fine at night, etc etc. He currently wakes up around 6:40am, down 12:15pm. Should I put him down later??
