@simplyfelicity: nope. :( between maternity leave 2 years ago and having a ear-infection prone baby, I've not carried over more than a day or two. Well, hopefully I can get it under control in the next couple of weeks, before I start...

@travellingbee: I am so sorry. I teach, too, and it's hard to do your job while so ill. I know it's the beginning of the school year but do you have a bit of sick time accrued?

That's sounds really hard! Sorry !! Any chance you could take a leave of absence ? I know that would be tough not starting out the school year but if it's that bad you also have to take care of yourself and your family.

@travellingbee: One of the bugs was just diarrhea and I was drinking all day long, but still needed IV hydration, so diarrhea is a bit more tricky than vomiting! I think it's smart to look at it like liquids in, liquids out, not - are you able to keep liquids down. After a few days of serious diarrhea with no vomiting, it's still hard to maintain hydration. And no, mine did not go away with either pregnancy I am sorry to say. With this last one it actually took 2 weeks after birth to go away, and I still have lingering food aversions. It was horrible to have a toddler to take care of with I because I couldn't feed her, didn't have the energy to play with her, and felt so guilty all the time!

@Rockies11: I have had 3 this year too! Ugh toddlers! I called the office and they said since I'm keeping stuff down for the most part I should be able to get enough hydration from Gatorade. Sigh. I'm so sick of this... Did yours ever go away?

@travellingbee: I had my second (and worse) HG pregnancy recently, and I got no less than THREE stomach bugs from my sweet germy toddler. So you have my sympathies. While the HG was fairly well controlled with medication later in pregnancy, when I would get a bug, I would have to go in for hydration and IV medication. It reset my appetite too every time, and got me back on track. And having serious morning sickness does make you super tired, so I wouldn't give up on trying different medications so at least you aren't nauseous contantly and super tired!

I'm so sorry! That sounds horrible. My friend had really bad MS with all three of her pregnancies and she ended up going in to get fluids after a stomach bug. It seemed to help her. I wonder if you are dehydrated? Feel better!

@travellingbee: My second pregnancy had worse (and longer) nausea too, and in fact it has never gone away this pregnancy--I'm almost 38 weeks now. But it finally lessened and I was able to stop medications at 23-24 weeks, and since then I'm only nauseous 3-4 hours every day as opposed to 24/7 for months.

You may be dehydrated, leading to the cycle downwards--can you go in and get IV hydration to "reset" a bit?

Also, I have a toddler and was working full time and I still went ahead and took 3 different medications--Zofran alone was just not even making a dent in my sickness this time around. Yes, I was sleepy at first, but I preferred sleepiness over the general wanting-to-die feeling of constant nausea. I mean, I was still nauseous but I didn't actively feel like I was on the verge of throwing up 24 hours a day, if that makes sense.

I was on Zofran, diclectin, and reglan. The diclectin was the last thing I phased out because it made the biggest difference.

@snowjewelz: I thought my first was rough and was worried about the morning sickness again but everyone kept telling me, every pregnancy is different. This one could be much easier. I never stopped to consider this one could be worse!! Ugh!
@Corduroy: thanks. I really need this to end soon!

@snowjewelz: there are other medicines but I'm very sensitive to medication and most of the others make me beyond tired. I have a toddler so that wont work. It does feel like I can't win. I wish I could "quit" but there's no quitting this!! Not even a pause button. :(

I had MS with #1 until 20 weeks, but as I recall, it was fairly well managed by one dose of zofran in the afternoon. I was working and functioning OK. But if I didn't eat dinner in time, I'd throw up. Occasionally I would throw up in the morning if I didn't eat quickly enough.

This pregnancy started out the same. All day nausea that eventually led to a similar throwing up pattern around 10 weeks. It has continued, where I need to eat constantly in order to avoid throwing up. But I am still nauseous a lot of the time.

Well this weekend, (starting Thursday )I had what I think was a stomach virus with bad diarrhea. I couldn't stomach anything and ended up throwing up many times. Now I can't seem to recover from it! Even with Zofran, I am still having terrible food aversions (I have NO appetite now) but if I don't eat, or don't eat enough, I am throwing up.

I don't have a reason for the post other than to vent. I feel at the end of my rope. I feel tired all the time and like I can barely function. I go back to work in a couple weeks (teacher) and I don't know how I can keep doing this. I just want someone to knock me out for a few months. Wake me when this is over!!!!
