I don't know what it is, but C has been having random sleep disruptions starting a little before 15 months. It sucks! So far it seems like a few bad nights, then some good ones, then some way too early mornings... I just don't know! But I hear you on not wanting to lose the one best way to calm her. C night weaned herself but on bad nights I can still nurse to calm her back down.

we had a major regression around that time. maybe wait it out a little bit until sleep improves then try training? i was reluctant to give up nursing olive (weaned at 26 months), but she was fine without it... plus she was a big girl! :silly:

My almost 18 month old has been waking like a newborn for the last week or so, since she was sick with a bad cold and cough. Prior to that she was up at least once a night to nurse, but she was easy to get back to sleep and the visit was pretty brief. We did mild CIO at around 11 months for falling asleep, and that worked well and she is still putting herself to sleep.

Just looking for some insight and ideas from others. A few things I'm wrestling with...

Is this the 18 month regression? Is night weaning worth it to see if it helps? I don't want to go through the trouble and then have lost the best tool I have to get LO back to sleep in the middle of the night. Does CIO even work on a toddler of this age, if we wanted to try it again?
