@Mamaof2: @littlek: Thank you both so much for your advice and encouragement. It means a lot! We've had a few good days in a row, so I'm hoping the worst is behind us, but may have more questions for you soon. I will definitely check out "Teeth are not for biting"!

@mossyslane: my son was a biter. What worked for us was reading book @Mamaof2 mentioned. He was shadowed as well. We encouraged him to use his words. Sadly it's a stage and there's only some much you can do when they are so young. Hang in there! Please PM me if you want to chat more. We dealt with biting for months.

@mossyslane: My DS was a biter - it was awful! Like you his teachers were wonderful and very supportive - At school they had to shadow him and catch him before he did it and then redirect him.
At home when he would Bite I would give him a stern "No Bite" and then give him something he COULD bite on. "We don't bite mommy but here you can bite your teether"

We also read "Teeth are not for biting" every day!

Ummm, yes, nomnom and nibble are my middle names! Must stop immediately...

She has been doing well with me and her teachers watching her very carefully and catching her before anything happens. Thanks for the advice:)

@mossyslane: my DD was a biter. Do you nomnom or pretend nibble on your lo? Blow raspberries on her belly?

We eventually got ours to stop by keeping our mouths to ourselves (lol) and by firmly and loudly telling her "NO BITING!" whenever she did. If she continued, I think we maybe have put her in a super short time out.

Out of what seems like nowhere, LO has started biting at daycare. One child on Friday and two today. Her teachers have been very kind and calm talking to me about how this can happen at this age and that she is not biting maliciously but curiously. I know that when the biting occurs (if it happens at home) I need to be firm and clear about how we don't bite but I'm at a loss to what else I can be doing to help. Does anyone have any experience? I feel so helpless.
