DD is 2 and has gone through these periods for a while now. It's annoying because mommy needs a break lol! As long as she's happy I guess that's all that matters?!

DS sucks at naps now too. He started fighting naps and bedtime right at 18 months (so for 3 weeks now). He doesn't want us to leave the room, where before he'd walk right to crib and go 'night night' all on his own.
He still takes 2 naps at daycare and will still put himself to sleep there, but not at home! She has even tried to drop to 1 nap, but he WANTS the 2nd one.

My solution so far for weekends has been to just lay with him on the couch till he falls asleep watching a movie, or we take advantage of the car naps.

For about the last 4 months my now 19 month old DD has been refusing to nap on the weekends though she naps every day, sometimes twice/day for her nanny, no problem. She sleeps about 12 hours at night and is a champ so my gut tells me not to worry about it but it's just bizarre and I'm curious if anyone else has had this experience. She is totally pleasant despite missing naps on the weekends but I know she's tired because she'll always snooze if she's in the car/stroller for more than 10-15 minutes. Also I find myself looking forward to bedtime which I feel really guilty about! Is this a phase or is this long term?
