So, I explained everything to Mr. Frog. I had planned to wait until after the wrestling so he could enjoy the show, but he took a bathroom break during a commercial and noticed the cup in the drawer.
He of course wanted me to test right away since I had some in the drawer.

I peed on the stick, followed all the directions. I got the faint negative blue line, and made sure to be in bright light and everything and there was no trace of a vertical positive line. It irritates me that the negative was faint, but the control line in the other window was nice and dark, so I guess it's fine.

The very faint color when wiping yesterday trailed off to nothing, but at 3am this morning I wiped some black.
At 10am when I finally got up, I started dripping black blood into the toilet. FINALLY.

It's never been that black before. It wasn't even showing red after hitting the water. I guess it's just really really old blood? That's kind of gross.

So, I've put in the cup and we'll hope I have a nice full one in 4 hours when I go to empty it later.
At this point I'm just praying it gets over and done with before the appointment on Friday so I don't have to reschedule. I want to go and tell the doctor everything and have them fix me.

More good news: Mr. Frog just got an email this morning about open enrollment for insurance. So, we did that and starting January we'll have insurance.
Yay.

I really hate my body. Friday's "start" turned out only to be maybe 1/4 of a mooncup overnight, and since that morning there has been NOTHING. No brown follow-up spotting, just hey, you're bleeding, oh wait, no you're not.

I was checking the cup every 4 hours yesterday to see if anything was going on. That's a good way to get myself irritated and sore. Today I've taken the cup back out. I'd rather mess up my clothes and know immediately. It doesn't help that I'm thirsty today and drinking lots of water, it just makes me go pee more and I'm checking the toilet tissue each time like a crazy person.
And there is something going on in my lower belly/back. Not cramps. Well, maybe cramps? But completely painless. I would blame gas, but I had that this morning too and those are quick twinges and not always in the same spots. But if this is cramps, they aren't doing their job!

This wasn't the normal spotting routine, and it's not the slam-bam-thankyou-ma'am of last month either. AARRGGGHH.

Yesterday was payday as well as Mr. Frog's day off. He seems to think you can call and get an appointment same-day, but anyway, I called first thing in the morning.

I have an appointment next Friday afternoon for a pap smear/female exam to get birth control.

I was starting to wonder again this month, but I finally had some bleeding around midnight last night, so I guess we're lucky again, we didn't make a baby .

YIPPEEE we have condoms!

Mr. Frog called last night like he sometimes does at the end of his shift, and he always asks if we need anything.
I said "Condoms!"
He laughed, and then had me poke the computer to check on some numbers. We're making progress again after paying our last rent payment for the place we left, yay!

He got a big assorted box with some kinds I've never seen before like Skyn, which is not latex. Mr. Frog says polyisoprene is the same thing they make IV tubes from. I chose that one or the purple Extended Intense for Mr. Frog to choose from. The purple one is supposed to have delayed lubricant for him and little studs for me to let us reach pleasure at the same time. Sure, whatever.

The purple one tastes terrible.
I enjoyed finally being on top again, and he DEFINITELY enjoyed himself.

Yay for no-baby sex and different positions again!

@redeyedtreefr0g: It sounds like this experience is the perfect time to take some time to sit down and talk with your husband about each of your timelines for children. While I understand thinking if he’s on board with pull and pray and knows the risk, he’s on board for a pregnancy; but those are really two different conversations. I wouldn’t want to move forward trying to conceive unless my partner was 100% on board as well because pregnancy is stressful….and parenting is even more stressful! Maybe this experience has made him think more about his timeline?

You might also want to take some time to focus on your body image issues, as they come across as more serious than just an interest in what diet to try next. It’s totally ok to not be happy with whatever size you’re at (um, I’m not! Lol), but there are healthier and unhealthier ways to deal with that. Fad diets, lots of pills, etc. are just not healthy and are not going to make you happy long-term.

Good luck.

Ok MrBee, it looks like a reply will post publicly to your wall, which seems odd to me.

I'm not able to edit my post for some reason so:

Please understand that my comment about my sister is not meant in any way to reflect on folks who may be larger or curvier than others. I know that everyone comes in many shapes and sizes. With out meaning to, I mistakenly implied that my sister was gross to me because of her weight- which is most definitely not the case! I only meant to list my family to explain my concern for my sudden weight gain.

I apologize for my poor choice of wording and I'll make sure to write things up and go back over them before I think about hitting that "submit" button.

Sorry folks, I got too excited about a community like this that is so active, and willing to talk about so many topics, that I let my fingers run away with me without thinking about how things might sound.

Mr Bee, the general consensus is that I probably didn't have chemical pregnancy. May I rename the thread and have it moved? I feel weird and lame having it posted in the Loss section. Maybe name it Froggy's Journey, or something.

I dunno. A lot of people will never understand my relationship with my blood family.
I'm sorry folks, I didn't mean to upset you.

@redeyedtreefr0g: After my first loss, I had an anovulatory or late ovulation cycle. There is honestly no way to know unless you have an ultrasound, do bloodwork (?) or take your temp (usually referred to as charting.) My next cycle, I ovulated a couple days earlier than the cycle of my pregnancy. That cycle, too, resulted in a pregnancy and loss.
Anyway, things will right themselves eventually and the only way to get to the bottom of your husband's perspective on birth control is to talk to him. In the moment, he may have forgotten your "arrangement."
Best of luck!

@redeyedtreefr0g: I think you may have had a weird cycle, which may have been caused by the dieting and pills. Depleting your body of nutrients can cause your cycle to respond in kind.

If you guys aren't ready for a baby yet, you most certainly need to talk to a doctor/find some method of BC.

Also, I think you may need to come to a better place with your body image before you get pregnant...pregnancy will not be super positive if you analyze all of your weight gain, etc.

You can get free birth control from planned parenthood or your insurance. If you don't have insurance, you might be able to get Medicaid depending on what state you are in. I think you should see a doctor and talk about birth control, diet pill use, weight, and any other health concerns you have if you think there is a chance you might get pregnant.

Of course I would never say that TO her. But there is no polite way to say I never ever want to be like her at all- looks, personality, lack of hygiene, anything.
I had really hoped that what people said about distance in adulthood making us fonder of each other was true. It is not. She's just really not a likable person to me at all.

Buffalo chicken dip is the best. Shredded chicken, a cheesey sauce made with milk, muenster, some blue cheese in there, topped with mozzarella and baked...
I like it better microwaved the days after- the flavors mixed together better and the microwave makes the mozzarella mix in and the whole thing is gooey delicious. I take my fork and fill a little scoop chip, I get more per bite with those things rather than the regular flat chips. OR, it's simply fantastic with raw broccoli, which is how I ate it last night :)

Welcome! I am sorry you are having such a confusing time right now. Sometimes our bodies can be very mysterious.

I think @simplyfelicity pretty much said it all. I agree with all her points. I also want to say that while I believe in Pull and Pray when executed correctly, I would not rely on if it I 100% could not afford to be pregnant for whatever reason (not just financially speaking). If you can't afford the pill and condoms, you can't afford to have a kid. I say that as someone who sometimes has wanted to be pregnant at various inappropriate moments and needed someone to talk some sense into me. So -- I feel you. But don't do it. I'd also stop self-medicating... sounds like a potentially bad scene.

@redeyedtreefr0g: It's normal to have an anovulatory cycle every now and again...that's why it was longer than usual and probably why the cramping was worse, with more clotting (more lining to shed). Just my 2cents. By the way, I think most of us have some body issues to contend with. Try to channel that into good habits and physical activity, when you can...and if that's not working, you might consider getting some extra support. Pregnancy can do a number on your figure, any way you look at it...and better to deal with these feelings now than later. Will you talk with DH about timing and plans for eventual children (so that you can pick a form of contraception that's in line with your plans)? Good luck to you both!

@redeyedtreefr0g: "My little sister is positively obese and gross"

Ouch. I'm just saying, I sure would hope my sister would never saying anything like that about me on a public forum. My sister is is skinny/healthy weight, and I on the other hand, am overweight. This seems extremely hurtful and rude.

There is a frustrating amount of copy-pasted lack of information regarding an anovulatory cycle!

I'm kind of dreading this next cycle- if we assume the last one was anovulatory, does that mean it should have been unique, or can I expect to start cramping ever cycle like when I was young? I don't think mine were ever what you'd classify as “severe”, but they were the reason I took birth control before even thinking about been sexually active with Mr. Frog.

I understand about the pull-n-pray method, which is why I am confused about Mr. Frog's actions. IF he was so worried about the possibility of pregnancy, and IF he thinks I could be impregnated any time of the month (he won't even finish inside during menstruation!), then WTH is he doing? He took the same sex ed classes I did which taught us to treat a penis like a loaded gun- and indeed we did for a long time.

The Cellucor pills, thank goodness they're gone, were something introduced to us by a friend's brother who works out a lot. This wasn't my first time trying them with Mr. Frog, and they'd never had a lasting effect like that, only the temporary one that would wear off in a few hours. They are designed to be used in conjunction with a strenuous workout, which is mostly where my trouble came in- they flood me with all this stuff I didn't use. I suppose a body could change the way it reacts to something... but how likely is that? It took two full weeks I think to settle that crazy issue, which was WAY long after the last pill.
Mr. Frog IS an aggressive personality and I am more a go-with-the-flow kind of one. However, the wording was wrong if I implied in any way that he forces me to do anything I don't want to do. Usually , he is a great influence on me, and if I'd honestly thought that the pills were causing harm, I'd have told him and not taken them.

If my mind made all that up, I'd like to really punch it. Or something. That was NOT funny and I am NOT amused.

I AM preoccupied with my weight NOW! I can't fit into my clothes! There are maybe 3 bottoms I can wear now- even the things with elastic are entirely too uncomfortable.
I've put it off hoping my body might just settle back to normal, but it's decided 130 is the new normal, and I can't have that- I don't have the wardrobe! I'm gonna have to do something.

I was HAPPY at 125. Happier at 120, sure, but I was not overly concerned before. We did keto because Mr. Frog is very insecure. Keto also affects him like he's walking along dropping rocks out of his pockets. Me- not so much- just that 5 lbs. I honestly only did the diet to support Mr. Frog, and I did actually like the way my body felt while on it. I'm more in tune with when I'm hungry, thirsty. I didn't overeat because meat and veggies don't swell. Plus, who wouldn't like the excuse to eat more bacon? But, to me the skipping of dessert and bread is not worth it in the long term because as I mentioned- the weight I would lose came right back the minute we stopped. What's the point?

I'm 5'2” and I understand that 130 for me is probably not an unhealthy weight. But now I look fat, and it bothers me. I'm uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm also worried about the precedent set by my mom and sisters. We're all shaped the same with heavier bottom halves. My little sister is positively obese and gross, my mom has always been heavier than she'd like- I know she doesn't love herself, and recently my fraternal twin sister blew up like a blimp! She was dealing with a cheating husband and divorce and probably depression which I'll never begin to understand, but my point is I'm worried because it seems to be extremely easy for this piddly little 5 pounds to become a lot more.
SO I guess, yes, I'm preoccupied with my weight now. I hope just going back to riding the bike will fix it- obviously eating less isn't going to, and I've got the notes from the last week or so to prove it.

Thanks for your comments and advice ladies.

While I think it's possible it could have been a chemical pregnancy, I think it would be pretty unlikely given that your home pregnancy tests were negative after your expected period and several days before you started bleeding. I agree that it sounds like an anovulatory cycle or one that was wacky due to the diet/pills.

Can you talk to your husband about your TTC timeline? It sounds like he doesn't feel the timing would be good right now, but for some reason isn't being super careful. I wouldn't leave this up to fate. When you get a BFP, you will want him to be really excited. I'm afraid if you get pregnant now, he might be really upset, even if he isn't being 100% careful. I think you need to talk, and maybe come up with a timeline for TTC and/or plan for what you need to do beforehand, so you can come to an understanding that you are both comfortable with.

Good luck!

You weren't kidding about long! :silly: Your first test date was when your period was about 4 days late, right...and then you got your period about a week later? That's the time frame when you would expect a HPT to appear positive. Then, talk to any woman who is trying to become pregnant (or concerned they might be pregnant)...we symptom-spot like crazy! Could it have been a CP...yes, but again you would expect a positive test at some time. More likely, it seems that your cycle may have been messed up by the supplement (which frankly sounds like scary stuff to me). You might try and work on getting insurance through the ACA...then you can have access to free, reliable birth control. I hope things settle down for you and DH and that you're able to start your family as soon as you're ready! :goodluck:

ETA: I second @simplyfelicity:'s judgment. Please don't allow yourself to be talked (or, worse yet, bullied) into taking a supplement that feels so bad to you. And 132 lbs is a healthy weight on almost any frame. Don't sweat that.
