I bought some Demi panel pants and wore my "fat pants". I wore a lot of scarves and long cardigans to hide my bump. I'm now in maternity clothing at 13 weeks. I have to fold the full panel on pants, but now I'm much more comfortable.

I totally forgot about bella bands! I will pick a couple up and also some ponte pants - great idea. I was checking out motherhood maternity and it seemed like they had some good options. Thank you all!

I wore the demi-panel maternity pants when I was in that in-betweenish stage. I wish I had some now for post-partum, but mine were all capris. The full-panel pants didn't fit properly until into my third trimester.

Flowy, non-maternity tops worked well, along with untucked button-front shirts.

Demi panel maternity pants fit me in the first semester, but I will be switching to full panel soon, so I'm not sure if you would want to spend the money. You could also get a belly band, or use the hair band trick, paired with looser/flowy shirts.

I bought some looser non maternity clothes that weren't too expensive when I had the bloat.

Banana republic makes (or made, I don't know what they're doing these days) a lot of fun printed blousey tops. Sort of peasant I guess. I was able to get away with wearing them for a loooooong time. They aren't so long that they look like tunics (no "is that a dress or a shirt? ")
I could do the belly band with my pants And they are sorta dressy
Actually what I realllllly reccomend are some black ponte stretch pants. More polished than leggings. Gap makes a great pair with a stretchy waist. I wish I would have started wearing maternity pants earlier. I was so much more comfortable than messing with the bands and gaping zippers. Vanity I guess but if I had to do it over I would start earlier!!
Confession: I still wear my black pants and I'm 8 months post partum and back to my pre preg weight. I love them that much

Bella band and blousy/flowy tops were my go to. Big, chunky sweaters might work too.

I've been getting by with dresses and maternity leggings for dressy events. And the shirts that I bought post lo 1 that were a little looser for nursing.

@Bee_McGee: its so tough! I felt so sick and chunky in the first trimester. I lived in leggings and DH's sweaters. I also wore my long wool coat all day at school to cover that fat and bump I was hiding

I got through my first trimester with using an elastic band for my pants or a headband around my waist as a kind of belt, or a Bella band, and some looser sweaters/tshirts.

I'm struggling with this too. So far I've just been creative with leggings. I have a stretchy wool skirt that I can wear over leggings, or some jersey dresses. I wear a longer cardigan to kind of wrap around myself /conceal.
I find I have two pairs of bigger pants that will sometimes fit in the morning, until I get bloated. So I bring a hairtie with my and use that toward the end of the day.
It's pretty uncomfortable, and I'm lucky because I only wohm 2 days a week (so it's stretchy pants 24/7 otherwise). Hopefully the maternity stuff will fit a little better soon.

Does anyone have suggestions for first tri clothes? I WOH and I have a bunch of stuff saved for later when I'm showing but since this is my 2nd I've expanded beyond my normal wardrobe (I usually wear very fitted things) but my mat clothes aren't fitting yet. Everything online shows a giant belly so I'm not sure what would be good for this in between time. Last time I was able to get to about 20 weeks in my normal clothes but that's not going to happen this time.
