@NovBaby1112: She was okay going the full 4 hours, and was usually fine going longer if she woke up early from her second nap. She has never been a very sleepy baby though. Any missed sleep she tends to make up overnight, so nap length isn't crucial. As long as she's fed and busy she's happy.

@Weagle: thanks! did your LO ever need a short cat nap before bed if she woke up early from her last nap or was she okay going the full 4 hours til bed?

@littlecasita1122: she is almost 6 months now, and she seems to be getting on a 2 nap schedule...sometimes 3 when she really needs it before bed. yea, ive heard the awake time in the morning is the least, LO usually cant handle more than 2.5 hrs.

My LO fell into this pattern on his own around 6 or 7 months. It worked really well for us so I had some idea of what to expect each day. 4 hours seemed like a long time before bed, but it really wasn't. I think most babies are more tired in the mornings anyway?

Yes, we did this, more or less from the time we stopped the third nap. I wish I had my notes.

@NovBaby1112: Up at 7ish, naps at 9 and 1, and bed at 7. She started switching up her schedule around the same time as daylight savings, which made it easy to push back bedtime.

@Weagle: awesome! what was your approx schedule, if you don't mind sharing...

@googly-eyes: yea, we are at like a 2.5/3/3 right now but it looks like she can handle longer awake times

@Mrs. Bee & @Mrs. Jacks: i know, 4 hours seems like so long...but LO has always been a very active not sleepy baby lol, so I am wondering if it might work for her

LO is almost 6 months and has always been able to handle longer awake times, so I am sort of wondering when to expect this pattern. She takes 2-3 naps a day, depending on how long they are.

@googly-eyes: it works for a lot of people! but just didn't work for us. olive has always been a sleepier than average child though. She sleeps around 15-16 hours a day at 19 months.

@Mrs. Bee: I thought the wake time of 4 hrs would be too long but when she was almost 7 months it started happening by accident and it stuck. We don't battle so much for naps anymore which is nice.

@googly-eyes: We're also now on more of a 3-4-4 or 3-3-4 schedule. It's nice to have a bit more flexibility!

we were never able to do a 2-3-4 schedule with charlie and olive because 4 hours was too long for them to stay up when they were on 2 naps. it was more like 2-3-3.

Has anyone heard of this? Basically it means that the first nap starts about 2 hours after waking up. The second nap starts about 3 hours after the baby wakes from the first. And bedtime starts about 4 hours after the baby wakes from the second nap.

When did you notice your LO fell into this pattern?
