DS is 2 years 3 months.

Wake up: 6/6:30
Nap: 1-3:30/4
Bed: 8-8:30

Our routine has been the same since he was an infant. Potty, Bath, brush teeth, Jammie's, reading, bed. We are starting to introduce a dance party post bath to release some extra energy!

Some nights are harder than others. He had started to request things at bedtime, but that stopped a week ago! I'm sure that will happen again.

I still hate bedtime. With the passion of a thousand burning suns.

No matter when we put him down, how we do it, how long his nap was, he still fights it tooth and nail and acts like a complete and utter nightmare.

We tried melatonin and the first night it seemed like it helped, but the second, it made things 10,000x worse.

I hope this is a phase we get out of soon because at this point, I'm seriously considering letting my 2.5 year old cry it out. This is just ridiculous.

At 2 y 7 months, we're really struggling with bed time. Lately he won't fall asleep before 10. We're trying to drop his nap, but he's in daycare... :bummed:

She is 3y2m and she naps from 1-3 pretty consistently unless we are traveling or out on the weekend. We just transitioned to a new daycare and I don't think she is napping well there, though it's at the same time. I aim to have her in bed by 7:45, but lately it's been closer to 8:30 and she falls asleep right away. I wake her up at 7:00 on weekdays and she wakes up on her own at 7:45 weekends

My daughter is 2.5. She naps at about 12:30, for one to two hours. Sometimes nap can be difficult, but only with me- daycare and dad don't have any problems.
At night she goes down at 7:00, asleep by 7:30 at the latest (we don't hear a peep from her, and don't watch the monitor much). Wakes up between 6 and 6:30.

Eta: nap time routine at home: potty, two stories, songs, one of us lies with her until she is asleep.
Bedtime routine: bath (every other night or so), potty (dad) diaper/pajamas/lotion (mom) brush teeth (dad), read two books (each read one). Lights out. I sing some songs, and then my husband hangs out with her for a few minutes (he "says good nights" to things in her room- has done this since she was a baby). Then he leaves.
Obviously when we have more kids this won't be an option, but for now it's really wonderful family time and I love it.

ETA: this is all +/- 30 min to an hour. we can be pretty loose with schedules and it does depend on how well she napped, when we eat, etc.

DS is 2.5 and his schedule is roughly the following:

6:30-7am wake-up
2-4pm nap time
8-8:30pm bed time

He usually takes stroller naps. We tried nap training him in the crib and it never really stuck. In terms of his bedtime routine, it's brush teeth, potty, PJs, and one book. Then off to the crib he goes! Most of the time it takes 15 minutes at most for him to settle and fall asleep.

DD is 35 months. She wakes at 7am, naps from 1pm-330pm on weekends (preschool she prob only naps an hr or so), then sleeps 8pm-7am.

For naps on the weekend, we read a couple books (1-3 depending on timing) then she goes potty, then to bed. For night time, she takes a bath with ds, then ds goes down first. then i read 3 books, goes potty, brushes teeth, then into bed. its the same routine every night so she knows she won't get more than 3 books. she does try to stall but responds well when i start counting.

DD is 35 months Sunday. She still needs a nap. I don't fight with her about whether she sleeps, but the couple of times she hasn't, I could tell because she was a basket case.

6:30-7am wakeup
1-2:30 nap/quiet time
8pm bedtime (though she stays up reading with a flashlight until 9 a lot of nights)

Xander's 31 months.

6:30-7:00 a.m. - wake-up
12:30-2:30 - nap
8:00 p.m. - bedtime

For nap, we usually try to transition to the nap right after lunch. So we'll have lunch, maybe watch a 10 minute show, then go upstairs to play for 5 minutes in his room, then potty, into a diaper, read a couple stories, sound machine on, into his crib, songs, then we leave. Not sure what daycare does.

For bedtime, it's an hour long production, sort of. After dinner, we'll play downstairs or watch some shows until 7:00. Then we move upstairs and play for 30 minutes. Then we brush teeth, have inhaler, play in his room for 5-10 minutes, then stories, potty, into a diaper, then lights off, sound machine on, into his crib, two songs, and we're done around 8:00.

DS turned 3 last month. He usually naps from 1-3 but recently has really been fighting bedtime. He loves and needs his nap though and would sleep past 4 if I let him. We do bedtime around 8 but he is usually up until at least 9. He gets up anywhere from 6:30 to 7:30. If he skips his nap he is a beast the following day so for now I am just making sure to get him up no later than 3:30 and try on non-preschool days to do nap a little earlier.

DD turned 2 in September...here is what it looks like:

7am-ish - up for the day
Noon - Lunch
12:30pm - Nap time...not much of a routine just diaper change, face washed, book read, crib
Nap length...she is up there anywhere from 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs...usually only asleep 1-1.5hrs
5:30pm Dinner
6:45pm start bedtime - diaper, jammies, binky, book, bed time. She is usually down by 7pm, asleep by 7:30.

We dont do baths nightly bc 1) she isnt that dirty and 2) her skin is dry to start with!

From 2-2.5, he napped around 12:30 or 1pm for about 2-2.5 hours. He went to bed around 8 and woke up around 6:30.

At 2.5 we paci weaned and potty trained. For a few months after that, he still napped around 1, but it was generally shorter, maybe 1.5 hours. And he didn't fall asleep til around 9, and was waking up around 6.

Close to 3, he started to drop his nap, and now at 3yrs old, on no nap days, he wakes up around 6:15/6:30 and is in bed asleep by 7:30. On days he naps, he will fall asleep around 1:30 or 2pm and sleep for 2 hours, and then be asleep for the night around 9/9:30, and wake up around 6:30.

My LO will be 3 next month. On school days she naps 12:30-2(usually) and on weekends she naps 12:30-3ish. Either way, she goes to bed between 7 and 7:30. For nap and bed time at home we cuddle in her bed and read 2 stories and then 2 songs, and then we leave. Sometimes she goes right to sleep, other times, it takes her a little while to settle down. Obviously there are off nights but for the most part the process is pretty smooth. She usually sleeps 11-12 hours from when she falls asleep until she wakes up in the morning.

She takes a nap around 12:30, sometimes she falls asleep right away and then other times she takes 30-60 mins to fall asleep. Naps at home and day care are around 1.5 hrs. Night time we put her down around 7:30, then it is 8:30-9:00 before she falls asleep. If we put her down later it still takes her that long to fall asleep. She is up between 6:00-7:00 most days.

We're struggling too (29 months) though I'm not sure what to do since she's in daycare with a nap schedule and she seems to still need the nap. But bedtime is haywire these days. She's usually up between 6-6:30 (typical for us), naps 1-3 every day (cut off both at daycare and at home, though she could go longer if we didn't), in bed by 8:15 but usually doesn't fall asleep until 9-9:30. Which I hate. I'm convinced she's not sleeping enough, and she's so agitated before bed, but earlier bedtimes just don't work for her.

My kids (3 years old, and 20 months old) don't nap much at all past 2 years old. In fact my youngest hasn't really napped for months- maybe 45 mins a day. We've tried it all, they just have low sleep needs and I also didn't nap past 2, according to my mom. They wake up before 6 AM, no matter what time they go to bed, so we put them down as early as possible, and try to get them asleep by 7.

Bedtime routine:
6ish - dinner, then play for awhile
7ish - upstairs for bath and teeth, then whitenoise, diaper, pjs, paci, song, book, nurse (her home nap routine is similar but shorter, without the bath, teeth, pjs, or nursing)
7:30ish - Bed

We are crazy about her schedule and never change it (which drives her grandparents crazy), but it has worked for us. For ex., if we allow her to fall asleep in the stroller or car seat, she will get like a 20 min nap then refuse her normal longer nap, and then she will be impossible all day. We also never keep her out too late.

DD is 2y10m now. We stopped intentionally napping her a couple months ago because even if she napped 30 min at 12 noon she wouldn't fall asleep until 10! So we tried cutting the nap out and she was exhausted by bedtime which we moved up to 7 or 7:30 at the time. This has worked well for us. If she is really exhausted she will fall asleep in the mid to late afternoon but we will wake her up after 15-30 min. And then she will have a later bedtime but in general we aren't doing anymore 10 pm bedtimes so overall it's been a good decision.

So no more naps here, even tho it seems like she really needs it by 3 pm.

Bedtime routine:
Dinner
Potty time (slowly training)
Bath
Change and brush teeth/floss
Story time (3 books)
Saying good night
White noise machine
Pat her back as she falls asleep
Usually unconscious by 8 pm without a nap that day.

What is/was your 2-3 year old's nap and sleep schedule? What was your routine for nap and bedtime?

We're really struggling. We've been playing with the timing and length of naps and bedtime, as well as the routine, with very little luck.
