I would call your doctor. It was rough for the first couple weeks but 5 weeks postpartum it was all fine. I had a C section as well.

Definitely call your doctor as others mentioned above. I only had trouble the first time (few days post C-section), then afterwards no pain at all. The first time felt like I was dying, so I know what pain you mean. But I don't think you should still be having any pain this far out. Good luck and I hope the stool softener or doctor's suggestion helps!

I ate tons of fiber and lots of seaweed soup the first month after my kids were born and I went #2 no problem. Even with 2nd and 3rd degree tears it was a little uncomfortable, but quick and painless.

@Danizaur: I would get some OTC stool softener. I didn't have a c-section, but pooping was definitely still painful/uncomfortable five weeks out from birth, and even now it can be uncomfortable if it's been a few days between occurrences.

I'm having painful stools at 2 weeks. If I skip going a day it's terrible.

Are you taking iron? I need it and it will definitely constipate you. Like I had loose stools in the hospital when I wasn't taking the iron but I've had the worst stools since being on it at home.

@Danizaur: Can you run out and grab OTC stool softeners? I had a C-section and didn't have any trouble going #2 afterwards. It was also an emergency C-section after I was pushing for 2 hours, so I expected the worst. I would definitely bring it up to your OB though!

I had two sections and that sounds normal but not sure about weeks pp so but definitely bring it up to your OB. My OB gave me stool softeners to help with poop the first two weeks. I do recommend taking them if you're having pain pushing it out. Hope your bum feels better soon.

Pretty sure that I was taking colace for about 5 months pp. My hemorrhoids didn't show up until 5w pp. That sucked.

For me it was the first few times after the c-section, but with some stool softeners and not taking the pain meds, it got better. Pain with a BM did not last that long for me and I've had 3 c-sections.

I was definitely still have pooping troubles at 5 weeks pp. It got better around 8 weeks pp. I had terrible constipation and hemorrhoids. I had to take stool softeners and milk of magnesia for 2 months pp to let everything heal up and not be miserable every time I had to go.

@Danizaur: I'm so sorry it's been a tough recovery! I would absolutely call your OB's office and talk to them about it NOW - don't wait. They might tell you to drink lots and take some colace to help things so it's less painful when you have a BM. I didn't have any pain related to having BMs. I did have extremely painful gas in my abdomen about a week after my csection...the pain was as bad as going into labor...I just cried and cried waiting for the bubbles to work themselves out but I thought I was going to pass out one night. I think pain meds can be constipating too so maybe colace will help.

Are you taking a stool softener? I was given stool softeners in the hospital and continued taking them for two weeks. I didn't have a problem the first time (2 days after section) although I was really nervous every time...

Okay this is going to be totally gross and TMI. But that's what HB is for!

I'm 5 weeks PP from a c section. I went #2 for the first time 5 days PP I believe and it was awful! I thought I was going to die. Lol. Since then I've been going every day or every other day like normal.

It still freaking hurts. Not as bad as the first time but I dread going because it hurts. There's blood after I go because I feel like I'm not healing completely (you know...too big of poops, too small a bum) before I have to go again.

Is this normal? Should it take a while before #2 is not a terrible experience anymore? I go back in a week for my 6 week PP appointment and I'm definitely going to bring it up, but I'm wondering if something is wrong and needs attention now? Remembering the first time and all this is enough to make me want to wait to have kids again. Lol
