We also just have one car seat and base and whoever has the baby gets that car. But in your situation I'd go with 2 bases. Way cheaper.

We are just using one car seat and base- whoever has the kid gets the newer, safer Subaru. Carseats don't fit well into our Jeep Wrangler anyway, so whoever doesn't have the kid gets that car.

Two bases. I would think you could leave the seat.

2 bases. Its cheaper then buying 2 cars seats, and its really nice and easy to have an extra base. Most daycares will let you leave the car seat there for the other parent to pick up too.

We have two car seats (a nicer convertible seat and a back up cheaper seat). We installed the nicer seat in our SUV that my husband drives to work because that's the car we take out during the weekends or whenever we're out and about. We installed the 2nd backup seat in our sedan which is the car that I take to work. We bought the backup one to install in the 2nd car for emergency purposes and I'm SO glad I did. There were a few times that I had to take my LO to the doctor's at the last minute (I had to leave work early) and I was so thankful that we had that installed.

For the infant seat we had two bases and just left the carseat at daycare (they have a storage shelf just for that). Now that we have a convertible car seat, we are going to get a second one because we are having trouble pre-planning when the other person needs the carseat.

We have one car seat and one base. We usually take my car, but when we take DH's car we'll just leave the base in my car and use the seat belt in DH's car to secure the car seat. Our Peg allows travel in cars without a base.

Most day care centers will let you leave a set there but double check.

We have 2 car seats, but the infant seat base is installed in my car and a convertible seat is installed in my husbands car. We didn't want to spend the extra $80 on another base that would only be used a year so we just bought a convertible seat for him that can be RF.

We are trying to figure out what we need when the baby comes and one thing I wanted to ask current Moms is, for one child, do you have two car seats (one for each car) or two bases and one car seat?

My thought is, if we get just one car seat, how do we deal with daycare drop off and pick ups? We can't pass the car seat off to one another.
