I found this site helpful when deciding how to fit 3 across in our Toyota.

The carseat lady has a list on her website with cars where 3 seats will fit in the back.

I used to drive a civic 4 door and no way would I ever been able to fit 3 across. I don't think the middle had latch but even with a seatbelt I think the middle would have been too narrow.

The britaxes are just so big! Even in my outback now we can't fit 3 seats. (We have two marathons.)

I have done that exact configuration without a base in a ford edge. The rear "hip room" is 56.1 inches in the edge and in a civic coupe it's 45.6 according to the link below. I would say it would be close to impossible if that is accurate. The edge definitely had some wiggle room but not 10.5". Plus it would be extremely difficult to buckle the bucket since I think it's narrower without the base.

Sorry :bummed:

i know it will probably not work, but do you guys think that we could possibly fit two forward facing convertible carseats (i'm guessing diono would be the only possible choice) PLUS a chicco keyfit infant carseat in the back of our 2000 civic coupe? we currently have 2 britax marathons FF, but are expecting a 3rd child in the fall. we were planning on getting a different car, but we're buying a house this month, so although not impossible, we'd rather just keep what we have if we could! I don't mind the inconvenience of toddlers and babies in a 2 door coupe, since I deal with it everyday already haha... (every time we have a baby we seriously discuss getting a new car, but we somehow haven't actually had to, yet!)

you can tell me if i'm just in dreamland -- and it will never ever fit :)

if you guys think it might work, we'll head over to the baby store and try it sometime this summer. thanks!!
