I gave him a little bit of Tylenol before. I handled it worse than him. Holding him while they did it helped. We were in a big rush so I didn't have time to nurse him but he was asleep in his car seat before I even finished checking out.

If I'd have had time I would have nursed him, definitely.

Yikes, I hope it goes ok. I'm glad at least it's normal to be anxious! I'm going to just nurse her after and too bad if they're annoyed. Ill call them about the Tylenol and also check with the pharmacist!

@Sammyfab: I'm totally in the same camp! Not like I'm giving her tons of Benadryl or something, I would so rather her be comfortable!

Our nurse was great, she did them super fast! It's not as bad as you think it will be. We have our 4 month shots in a month!

Omg already?!
My pedi gave Lo some Tylenol just in case and Lo was fine (no fever) afterwards.
She cried, but stopped after a few seconds. Just give baby lots of hugs and kisses!

I did the same as @prettylizy. My boob was in lo's mouth before he could even start crying! He has taken all of his shots like a champ and he's been smiles and giggles throughout the rest of the day and has always slept well afterwards too.

My friends's sister is a NICU nurse and she recommended Tylenol 30-60 minutes before and every 4-5 hours afterwards for the next 24 hours. I know it may sound like over-medicating but to me, it's worse to have my LO waking and screaming in pain than a little extra Tylenol.

We're in the same boat, DD's getting hers on Thurs. It's her 2nd round of shots at 5 months (it's delayed a month here). She was fine the first time ... until hours later and spiked a fever! Scared the crap outta me!

My only advice is to have baby fever reducer in handy, just in case.

The shots themselves were not that bad...he only cried for about 15 seconds after he felt the pinches. It was the fever he got later that night that was awful. Our doctor's office wanted to call first before they would tell us how much Tylenol to give him...long story short ask your doctor how much to give your LO so you can give it at the first sign of a fever coming on.

Give her the Tylenol about 30 minutes before and then follow up a second dose on the suggested time frame (I think it's 4-5 hours). C handles shots really well so she is always fine and stops crying as soon as I pick her up and give her a few cuddles, no feeding needed. It's really a very quick process. A couple jabs, they cry a bit and then it's over. I was so, so nervous too but it ended up really not being as big of a deal as I thought.

She had no issues with the 2 and 4 months shots and she had a low-grade fever after the 6 months ones but was back to normal in 24 hours. She slept for pretty much 24 hours straight after the 2 months ones.

it's totally normal. I didn't even give my doctor a chance to rush me out, I just picked her up and started to nurse her before they even left the room. She quieted down a few seconds after that and I took my time to nurse and dress her.

You remember that you are a customer and you have every right to make your daughter feel loved and comforted, and if that means taking an extra 5 or 10 minutes in the room, don't worry about it.

I'm so anxious about it. As in, literally nauseous. I know she needs them but I do not want to see her in pain! I'm hoping my doctor's office will let me nurse her right after but they always seem like they're in a rush and need the room back for the next person. Even thinking about it now is making me nauseous.

Tell me it's not that bad! Or tell me it is, and how to make it easier on us both?

I bought Little Fevers..should I give it to her before or after?
