Growth spurt. One of many sleep disturbances you will have in the coming months! Hang in there, soon enough you'll have to drag them out of bEd in the morning!

@Pumpkin Pie: Thanks for the support and for the honesty! Each week can truly feel like a year when you aren't sleeping, and I'm sorry you're now dealing with multiple wake-ups again. Ugh!@BabyTsMom: You're right-I was amazed that he was going so long, which is why it's so hard/confusing now that he's back to needing to get up frequently! It was a good few weeks!@mrsjyw: Hoping my son follows your son's lead and starts STTN soon!!@miramira: Yes-a regression is actually part of progression, which is so confusing! And hard! The newborn period is only a few months, but it can feel interminable at the time (as you well know). Hope your son is sleeping sweetly again soon!

I agree with Pumpkin Pie. This is very common, especially during growth spurts or times when new skills are being learnt. Our little guy (15wks) woke up every 1.5 hours for 2 nights in a row recently but it seems it was to help fuel a few new skills like leaning forward and turning onto his side. A "sleep regression" normally happens during a time of great development, so although sleep patterns go backwards for a while, you're baby is actually progressing. Hang in there!

Ds started doing long stretches early but weeks 8-11 were a total crap shoot for us. We just followed his lead and I nursed him during his wakeups as needed. He started sttn the following week and night weaned as well. It's so early, I wouldn't worry about regressions and such at this point!

It can't hurt to try to feed him more during the day. I also second the growth spurt notion. For what it's worth, multiple wakeups at 10 weeks is completely normal and more common that what you are used to (ie one wakeup at 10 weeks is not as common and man, you are/were lucky!!!) He's still considered a newborn and needing to feed every 3-4 hours or even more frequently is normal.

Hang in there. If he was down to one wakeup this early, he will likely settle into that again soon.

Maybe he is in a growth spurt. Baby sleep is so hard and changes frequently. Perhaps try giving him more to eat during the day and see how it goes. If he seems hungry during his awakenings, I would just assume he needs the food. 10-11 weeks were really unpleasant for us. I think things started getting better at the 3 month mark, but now at 4 months we are back to multiple awakenings.

I'm wondering whether or not anyone else has experience with this. Our son is almost 10 weeks old, and I'm EBF. He weighed 12.5 lbs at his two-month check-up, and is (luckily!) very healthy. He has pretty much set the nighttime feeding schedule the whole time, save for me putting the paci in his mouth occasionally which often helps him stretch his night feeds (he is a huge comfort nurser and loves to suck). He usually goes down around 7/7:30, I dream feed him around 11 each night, and last week he had three nights in a row where he went to 5/5:40 before getting up to eat again. Obviously this was thrilling! Prior he'd been getting up around 4:30, and before that 3:30, etc. He basically had been pushing his own wake-ups back (which felt totally natural), and was down to one MOTN feed. He isn't/wasn't ready to get up for the day before 6, and typically wakes up happy when it's closer to 7:30/8. However, the last few nights he has been up again with greater frequency, or has wanted to eat much closer together again (e.g. only 3 hours from a prior night feeding, and seems a lot more unsettled). Putting in the paci is suddenly making him angry instead of soothing him. Is there such a thing as a sleep regression this early? Should I be feeding him greater quantities during the day as he grows? He occasionally has a pumped bottle, but when I'm BFing it's so hard to know how much he's getting, and how long to let him go. He literally will (and has) suck without stopping for ages, to the point where he spits up a ton if I don't cut him off because he doesn't know when he's full. I'm totally confused and would love any advice!
