@wheres_c: She cried, but as soon as I picked her up she calmed back down pretty quickly and nodded off. When we got to the car she was fine. It was worse when her legs hurt her all afternoon. We ended up giving her tylenol about every 8 hours and it helped a lot.

@Minnie_Girl: Oh wow...craziness. I'm considering a homebirth with #2 after how awful my hospital delivery was. The delivery nurse actually asked me why I wasn't giving birth at home or a birth center because I was refusing the pitocin and the epi.

@rawrasaur: Ouch! poor little Audra. did she cry a lot?
I'm not sure what's worse. Getting stuck 5 times at once, or getting stuck the 2 times and knowing I will be taking him back in 4 weeks for more.

Man, Audra got stuck 5 times at her 2 month visit a week ago.We were told just three pokes, but there were 4 and I think the 5th was because the 4th syringe broke. Her legs were very sore the next 24 hours. Luckily, other than some cradle cap, everything else looked perfect.

ETA: She was 10 lbs 8 oz putting her in the 26th percentile.

@wheres_c: We're meeting all of the (six?) pediatricians at an office that sees unvaxed children, but so far we haven't found one that suits us really well. One was kind of cold after she found out about our home birth, one was pushy, another relied on a handout instead of talking to me.

I'm looking for someone who will talk with me more in-depth and provide me with good info! I keep running into this scenario where I ask questions and people start judging or shut down. The biggest lecture actually came from a CNM at my postpartum checkup!!

@Minnie_Girl: yes thank goodness when he woke up the next day he was his fussy self.

Who is lecturing you?

I interviewed 2 pediatricians....one was very standoffish but the one we chose said that if he wasnt in daycare then its ok to delay some of them.

We chose hib and pneumoccoal because you dont want to mess around with meningitis.
I initially wanted to skip Polio because its been eradicated in the US but SO is from Peru and his cousin is semi paralyzed due to polio, so he convinced me otherwise.

@wheres_c: Is B feeling better now? :)

I am DREADING the two month visit. I'm already super upset at the thought of the shots, but if we don't do them I'll get to put up with another "you're a diseased baby killer" lecture. Blah. At this point I'm thinking we'll wait on the shots until she's bigger.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing how much bigger baby girl actually has gotten!

We had ours today and S had her two shots. She's up from 5 lbs 8 oz at birth to 9 lbs 0.5 oz. so still small, but gaining appropriately!

So exciting! L is growing so quickly too! She was 11lb 4 oz and 23.25 inches at her 2 month a week or two ago. We're doing the recommended vaccine schedule, but it was only two shots and she was only fussy for a few hours afterward.

How's everything else going for B? And any other December babies of course!

I love our pediatrician so much! She just gives us the information we need, allows us to make decisions and is supportive.

B had his two month checkup today.
He went from 7th percentile weight at birth, to 41st percentile (11lb 6oz). He is 70th percentile for height, and 74th percentile for weight.
We need to work on tummy time for flat head, but his umbilical hernia looks way better.

We are working an alternate vaccine schedule so had hib and pneummoccal shots today. He will have tdap, rotovirus, polio next time.
