We ran into this with our toddler, up every night at 3. WE started doing what you were doing but it became such a habit, that we finally went in there, said "it's night time" and comforted her but left. Eventually we let her "cry it out" and she stopped waking up 2-3 days later.

@Foodnerd81: I don't have any advice but can commiserate because my 5 month old has been doing this for the last couple of weeks on and off. She wakes up at midnight, plus or minus and escalates to full blown crying immediately. It can take up to an hour to get her resettled

For the last week, roughly, C (2 years) has been waking up right around 11 pm, plus or minus 15 minutes. She goes to bed around 7:45 and falls asleep alone in her crib without a problem, then wakes up a few hours later whining until t turns into screaming for mommy. Eventually DH or I will go into her room, smooth her, and lay down in the bed in her room with her until she falls asleep, which can take anywhere from ten minutes to over an hour. She then sleeps through the night until her normal wake up time (ranging from 6:15-7:30 these days).

She's had a cold, and has been working on her 2 year molars off and on, so I thought it was related to that, but it happens at the same time whether we give her ibuprofen before bed or not. I realize we are probably encouraging her to continue crying for us by coming in and sleeping with her, but she doesn't let up and she IS feeling crummy.

Anyone had a toddler waking up at the same time like that every night? It's weird how it's always within the same half hour.
