Ugh. Here too. 20 months and most of the time a bottle of milk does the trick but there have been a few mornings where he crawled all over our heads for an hour or two before falling back asleep. I'm REALLY looking forward to this stage being over!

Following because we are going through this with our 21 month old right now too! He wakes up and cries, and where we used to just be able to let him cry for a few minutes and he'd go back to sleep, he now escalates into screaming words like "milk! blanket! diaper!" until we go in to him. Sometimes we can get him to go back to sleep but other times he is just up for the day at 4:30am and it's getting old fast.

@Oliviapope: DD around 21 months and still now will wake wanting to eat, and talks a mile a minute, I really think it is a huge milestone verbal and their brains going a mile a minute!!!

She wiltellake asking about the boy at the park, to.go potty, where is grandma and all sorts of things from that day! Hang in there! I do however not give her food and tel her it is sleeping we dont eat at night, I offer water if she seems miserable!

Ohhhh 8/10 times when this occurs we put her in our bed to go back to sleep..... lol

sounds like a sleep regression tied to a big developmental milestone on top of a growth spurt, we dealt with this around 16 months every night for 2-3 weeks, and now again at 24 months, probably every 3rd/4th night for 2 weeks. i usually let him come in the living room, give him some milk and read a book and then he's so tired he doesn't fight when i put him back in the crib. hoping it stops soon (last time his sleep went right back to normal).

My 20 month old has generally been a great sleeper. Every few months she may have a night wake up each night over the course of a week or two, but usually ties to teething/cold.

Recently she's been waking up every night sometimes two or theee times. If she just fusses we let her cry a bit and sometimes she falls back asleep. More frequently her crying escalates, she screams for mom or dad, is fully awake, shaking crib rails. When we get her sometimes she falls asleep on us in the chair and transfers back to the crib well.

More often, she cries and begs to eat or read. She is only consoled by mill or a pouch or banana, or by reading books.

Im at a loss for what to do. I try to say that it's time to sleep, tell her a story in the dark, song, etc. but she won't calm down. Re: eating, she genuinely seems hungry. We feed her dinner and a nighttime snack but this is still happening.

Anyone been here before and have any advice? I've seen guidance on sleep regressions but haven't found any real steps to take. Would welcome any feedback, commiseration, or links to resources. Thanks so much!
