The newborn fog was tough, especially breastfeeding. Returning to work was also really challenging for various reasons. I felt like I was treading water for awhile. But I finally hit my stride during the last few months of the year. I got back into a groove at work, and the baby just became a lot more fun to hang out with once he learned how to crawl. I am really looking forward to 2015. That's fantastic and quite an accomplishment. Feeling good about ourselves is definitely a wonderful confidence booster. I struggled with my pp weight loss for a while but managed to lose weight recently by changing my eating habits. I can wear my pre pregnancy jeans again so I am feeling great! </p> <p>2014 was a great year for our family! The best single event was celebrating DD's first birthday. She's just the sweetest and happiest toddler around, we are so thankful for her. But this year was so wonderful. We took the boys on our first family vacation up north to visit DH's family. DH and I took an amazing, rejuvenating 5 year anniversary trip to Mexico sans babies (first time away together since they were born, and our first real vacation since our honeymoon). </p> <p>And professionally ... I was on fire. I got a raise, then promotion with a really substantial raise, a nationally recognized award in my industry and an internal company award, as well as a business community award. I'm amazed at how much she knows and how fast she picks up new things. But all has fallen into place as DH landed a great job and we bought our very first house. My husband broke his leg in two places, requiring surgery and a rod to be placed in the bone, right before our third baby was born via C-section at the end of 2013. So we started the year both on pain killers unable to take care of ourselves or our children. Then, my husband traveled 60% of the time from September to November, missing Halloween and Thanksgiving. We are relocating, for his job, in a few weeks and spent December getting our house ready for the market and house hunting, not really allowing us to enjoy Christmas fully. DH keeps getting better - he's walking now. He's also more calm and more independent.</p> <p>We had some challenges, but we were able to buy a house and had a successful IVF cycle. We had a really crappy end to 2013 and I remember thinking what a difference a year would make. M started a new job in January and he is so happy and doing well. I turned 30 in May and got pregnant in June. Disappointing. Destructive. At Christmas I was sad, it was such a stark contrast to last Christmas. Last Christmas I was so happy &amp; optimistic about life, this year it just felt like I was standing in the rubble of everything beautiful that had fallen, all the pieces are still there, but they've all been torn apart &amp; you're not sure how to put them back together again. Beginning with the unexpected death of one of my closest friends in Feb. There were so many downs but I am grateful for my DS, he definitely was my highlight this year.
