<description>&#60;p&#62;I heard that it was to do with room for a diaper or not.  But I use them interchangeably with no issue.  My daughter is 15 months, 33 inches (but gets her height in the legs) and 24lbs for reference.  2T is maybe sometime a little longer, but I really don't see much difference.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I think 2t pants would be quite long if he's just over 30 in.  My son is probably 34 inches with a longer torso and 18-24 pants (old navy, gap, Gymboree) is perfect lengthwise.
