@mrskc: I'll have to look into it! It's certainly more wallet friendly than the one I linked to up thread, but I'll have to get a closer look at patterns when I'm not on my phone. I'm super picky, in a way that annoys even me :)

@Weagle: have you checked out the ju ju be BFF? That's what I'm going to be using when #2 arrives. I think it will be enough space since I only carry diapers, snack and water cup for DS who is currently 22 months. It can be used as a backpack and comes with a shoulder strap. I used it when DS was a baby and loved it!

My kids are 26 months apart and I did get a slightly bigger diaper bag to accommodate two kids. I'm not an overpacker either. I needed it because baby #2 was in diapers, and I took on potty training LO #1 not too long after #2 was born, so I was always carrying around an extra set of clothes for both kids, extra undies and pull-ups just in case, and milk for both kids. They're close enough in age that when one kid gets something, the other one wants it too. So I try to be fair and have enough snacks and drinks handy for them both!

Dimensions of diaper bag #1: 14 x 13 x 4 inches
Dimensions of diaper bag #2: 14.8''h x 12.9''w x 6.8''d

@weagle: @boogs: hmm...interesting! A friend just came over with a Ju Ju Be Be Right Back and I was thinking that might be a good solution for us because I wanted something hands-free...ack, too many choices!

@Boogs: I used one from Everlane. I really like the backpack, and still use it for travel/long day outings/etc, but it wasn't the best solution for me to use it as my daily bag.

@Boogs: I used a backpack for a time with just LO. I really love the space, but didn't like that I only had one option for straps :/

I'm planning on getting myself a backpack just because I figure it will be easier with 2, but it won't be a super huge one.

@kakimochi: @Mrs. Yoyo: Thanks for your responses! I'm definitely not an overpacked, but I didn't know if I was missing something. It seems that everyone gets a bigger one when they have another kid. I'm thinking about getting something like this (or maybe this one if I can convince DH) http://www.lily-jade.com/designer-diaper-bags-p/m1-brandy.htm

I like that it can be cross body, shoulder, or backpack style.

I bought a huge diaper bag for our 28-month age gap and quickly realized it was overkill. I guess it just depends if you're an overpacker (and sounds like you aren't).

i have 2 LO with a 2 1/2 yr age difference. For that 1st year with the 2nd one, we have been carrying around a large Swissgear backpack like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/SwissGear-SWISSGEAR-BACKPACK-GREYFITS-Computer/dp/B004KS7FPG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1408058556&sr=8-3&keywords=swissgear+synergy+backpack

and it's handy but yes, it can be challenging carrying it and/or hooking onto the stroller, and it never fits in the stroller underbasket, we have to take it out. but we would be out all day and used it to carry everything we needed for 2 little ones. but now, with a 20 month old and a 4 YO, we've gone smaller and use a much smaller Columbia baby backpack.

http://www.babygiftsoutlet.com/prd/columbia-baby-backpack-with-ripstop-trim.html

I'm thinking we could have probably gotten away with using this smaller backpack in the 1st place if I wasn't so obsessive and manic about bringing everything with us just in case. i think you can do with a regular size diaper bag, just plan smart.

My kiddos will be about 2.5 years apart. Right now I just throw a sippy and granola bar in my purse for LO, so she doesn't need much. We keep extra clothes and panties for her in the car. I know I want a different style baby bag this time around for ease of use, but do I really need a bigger one because I'll have 2 kids?
