Is anyone doing any great pregnancy workouts? I'm walking a few times a week and trying to go to prenatal yoga 1-2 times a week. I'm 24 weeks and really need to start getting into a regular exercise routine!

Love the idea of supporting each other through this. I bought a prenatal yoga and pilates dvd when we started TTC. I did them each once before we found out we were pregnant, but not since. The sickness and fatigue is starting to wane now though (10wks) so I'd really like to get started working out. I also plan to walk my dog for exercise, but its just been too cold.

I would definitely like to do some sort of roll call, like @runnerd said. I think I'd be more motivated if I know I have to admit to being lazy!

I'm 8 weeks and have been trying to stay working out. I used to be a huge runner and healthy eater, but that all seemed to have come to a halt since we started TTC.

I'm hoping to swim regularly (my Aunt has an indoor exercise pool) and go on walks once it warms up.

Anyone have any ideas how we can use each other to motivate/stay accountable? Like maybe a weekly roll call where we share what work outs we accomplish or mid weeks "did you work out today?" nudges? Lol

@NorCalWayfarer: @runnerd: Thanks! I hate feeling like I'm asking stupid questions, so I'm always happy to get some answers from ya'll before going in. (Apparently I don't mind asking ya'll questions. )

@MrsH: :-) it's never too late to gain!

I pretty much stopped exercising by week 37 last time. But I did some "childbirth exercises" irregularly. No idea if they helped! I got frustrated that I still had to push for three hours is I was in shape. But maybe that's what enabled me to push so long??

I feel had I haven't worked out much this pregnancy since I was so passionate about it last time. I'm eating better though. Trying some fancy citrus, fennel, beet salad tonight!

@Torchwood: I went to regular classes my first like 6-8 weeks and there weren't really any modifications except for some twists and the instructor let me know. Definitely keep hydrated. I haven't been to yoga for about 6 weeks now but I'm sure modifications will be different at 14 weeks (with a little pooch) than they were at 6 weeks (with nothing showing). Have fun!

@Torchwood: if you give instructor heads up at reg class, they should be able to give you a discreet heads up if there's a move they want you to modify, at least the class I've gone to does that

Only 5w here, but I do have big plans (probably overly ambitious!) for working out! I've been sick, so I haven't been able to start, but I think by next week I can get to my first yoga class. Does anyone know whether I should go to regular or prenatal this early? I feel really weird going to a prenatal class this early, but if there's some reason I should...? I want to do a class once a week and do extra on my own.

Also, we're looking for a gym to go to. I'm so spoiled with having been in apartments that had workout rooms for the last few years that it's confusing trying to figure out a good gym. But I want to go natural on birth, which means I need a lot more strength and endurance. So I want to do some basic strength training and cardio. I don't know exactly what that will look like, but I'm hoping someone at the gym can help.

I guess I should weigh myself now. My first appointment isn't until 8.5 weeks!

Love seeing this! I was sad I couldn't join the other thread so I'm happy we have this :-)

I've been on a hiatus from yoga so I need to find some time to get back to going to classes regularly. I need to go on some walks too.

Not to rub it in but it was almost 70 degrees here on Saturday. :silly: (although we are in a drought so that sucks for skiing -- I'm sure our mountains would gladly accept some of your snow!)

I've been doing barre classe 2x/week and going in hour long walks 2x/week. I'm 27 weeks and hope I only gain 15 more lbs at max. I feel great so I plan to exercise until the end! Now I just need to get better about my eating... :(

LOL, this is a great idea :)

My goal is to continue with my prenatal yoga once a week and get into the habit of doing some of the poses at home. I also did squats yesterday for the first time in ages, which is a good thing! And when it stops blizzard-ing here, I need to go back out on some walks. I was doing well for a while, but the bitter cold made me want to stay inside instead ;)

I'm 26w 6d (aaahhh!!!) I need to keep on this so I'm not a total balloon by the end!

My step-mom just gave us her elliptical she wasn't using so currently doing 15min a day after a hiatus from exercise, and hoping to work up to 30-40min 4-5x a week.

I have a yoga video, but I really don't enjoy yoga too much. It's like the exact opposite of passion, running lol.

I CAN'T WAIT for spring when it warms up and I can start walking outside!

ETA: I'm 12.5 weeks

Okay, preggos. The 30 Day Shred has their own thread going. So I thought I might start a pregnant workout thread for those of us who aren't in a position to lose any weight!

What are your workout goals for your pregnancy? I just bought prenatal pilates, did it one day and got super sore. Yikes. Last pregnancy I walked in the pool and did water aerobics, but ended up with bad SPD so I'm hoping this one will go better!

So I guess our question is, what will you gain when you...keep on gaining? :-D
