My LO's second birthday had a Daniel Tiger theme, and he loved it! Of course it was probably more for me than him, but I preferred Daniel Tiger over Thomas. I made sure it was colorful and fun with rainbow colors and just a sprinkle of Daniel (invitations, cupcakes, and party hats).

@hellocupcake: ha! Cute & clever.

For her first we did a springy yellow & lavendar "theme".
For her second it'll only be a few of us but I'm leaning towards a rainbow or carnival theme!

1st was a spring theme.
2nd was a pororo (her fave character) theme. I just used pororo colors and had a custom cake made.

A cars theme would be cute for your DS. Or a train or ball theme!

Still haven't decided what I wanna do for my son's 1st. Have the venue picked out though!

I have a girl so.....
1st birthday- Rose garden theme
2nd birthday- Bow theme

I was thinking about doing a ball theme, that could be fun for you. There are tons of pinterest ideas, and I was going to get her a ball pit as her gift so all the kiddos could play in it during the party.

2nd birthday was Oh Twodles (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)

3rd birthday is an April (a ways away) and I am thinking Soccer or Disney's Cars at this time.

My 1st birthday theme for Noelle was UP! - LOTS of primary colors and balloons. Easy to do. Had the guests dress up in retro, vintage clothing - super cute.

No idea what to do for a 2nd birthday either so I'm not help there.

For her 2nd birthday I want to do a tu-tu (2-2) theme (: She's not even one yet soooo haha...but for a boy...I LOVE the paper airplane theme I saw on Pinterest or even a Train, like Thomas the train?, theme (: you could do a lot of red yellow and green and do a simple car/traffic theme? Signs and stuff could be traffic signs (:

**for her first birthday we are doing Sophie in One-derland (: think tea party in the snow (: lots of white and turquoise/pink for accent colors (: One big table for a tea party like Alice in Wonderland, little top hats and fun stuff for the kids to feel like a real tea party (:

@rsp213: the bubble theme sounds awesome...I could completely see kids LOVING that (:

I was going to do a Curious George theme for L's second birthday next month. However I was getting a little overwhelmed about the amount of "stuff" I would have to buy so instead we are doing a bubble theme. I got a bunch of wands and bubble juice and we'll set up the water table. I'm hoping all the kids enjoy it!

We just did pink polka dots as a "theme" for her first. We added lime green accents. Very easy to get stuff that coordinates together.

I would think about a color scheme for DS. Maybe blues and greens or primary colors Start planning around that and then later on you can add a real theme or character.

I know it's kind of early to be thinking about this but before I know it, it will be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and then BOOM! 2nd birthday time! Followed closely by DD's 1st birthday (a month apart)! Augh! So I feel like I need to start planning this now.

DS's first birthday party was somewhat themed - it was loosely animal/safari themed. The cake was an owl that my mother made and some cupcakes, the decorations were simple and colorful and the guest list? My parents, the ILs, and my aunt and baby cousin (he's 4).

My initial thought would be doing Daniel Tiger but I feel like that's more of a) a pre-schooler thing than a toddler turning 2 thing and b) more of a me thing than a him thing. He has a lot of interests because he's so little. He likes playing quietly with his cars, trucks, soft fruits and veggies, books, puzzles, train, etc. He loves going outdoors and playing with his balls. And a theme might come to me in a few months but... I'd rather at least have something better in place than the quickly pulled together party that I had last time.

So tell me - what was your 2nd birthday party theme? And what was your 1st birthday party theme (still have another one of those to plan!)
