The title of the post makes me think about Pippin from Lord of the Rings.

"What about breakfast? Second Breakfast? Elevenses? Tea? Lunch?..."

Anyone else? I can't be the only need around here.

Anyways, on the days I don't work I usually eat breakfast and then an hour later I'm hungry and will eat something else. Usually fruit.

The muffins @artbee mentioned are awesome. It's basically like a little crustless quiche in a muffin tin. I'm eating low carb right now so on Sunday night I made a big breakfast casserole with turkey bacon, spinach and low-fat cheddar. I have been bringing a piece with me to work each day and sticking it in the microwave - so good and satisfying!

If you want something sweet/carby, cereal is always my go-to choice. I used to keep a box of cereal at my desk at work and munch through it in just a few days!

I'm not pregnant and totally have a second breakfast just like you when I get to work. I normally have a (protein) bar of some sort washed down with a bottle of water!

@artbee: @betsyboop: @winniebee: @mediagirl: you guys are the best!! I had a probably 5 year love affair with all things Fiber One, especially their bars, but for some reason last year I stopped loving them. I moved on to their brownies for a while but I've really been into a pure carb mode lately (vanilla or just bread-y things). I can't wait to try some of those muffin and baked oatmeal recipes!!!

@winniebee: Mmm the original chocolate ones are my favorite. I like Fiber One bars!!

Oh, I also like granola bars by Nature Valley. They're sort of filling.

@mrs. wagon: I found this single serving baked oatmeal recipe on Pinterest. It turned out GREAT. It made 32 oatmeal cups (in muffin cups) and they taste fantastic. I froze most of them and left a few out for Hops' breakfasts while I was away. You just pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds or a minute and then walla - you have second breakfast (healthy, at that!)

Here's the pin with what I changed: http://pinterest.com/pin/215609900880479903/

How about Fiber One Bars? They sound gross, but I really like the Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Caramel ones. They are sweet and very high in fiber : )

@mrs. wagon: Pinterest has tons of great healthy muffin recipes. I also saw one that was made of eggs and it's supposed to freeze well.

Um. Your 1st breakfast doesn't sound like a breakfast! Neither does your second!
You should get some raisin cinnamon bread and eat it toasted with butter.... yummmm. Or an English Muffin with butter and jam. I love butter!

Mrs. Wagon here with yet ANOTHER food-related post... ;)

I used to eat just like Wagon Jr. (breakfast, morning snack around 10am, lunch, afternoon snack around 2pm, dinner) but now I find myself eating second breakfast instead. Thankfully this usually keeps me satisfied til lunch, but I find it hilarious that as soon as I sit down at my desk (usually 8:30am!) I NEED to eat second breakfast.

In the car on the way to work Wagon Sr. and I share a Jimmy Dean D-light sandwich, nutri grain bars, and juice. When I get to work I've been having a second breakfast: my single (tear) cup of coffee and something sweet/carby (today it's animal crackers).

This second breakfast usually comes from the vending machine so I need some ideas... anyone eat a sweet/carby breakfast they can suggest that would be cheaper and relatively healthy?
